Think Samson will get drafted? Sounds like he is getting quite a bit of interest as an edge rusher. If he is selected in the draft it will be in a very late round. My question is, when is it better to be a free agent and able to negotiate with the team that may fit best, vs being obligated to a specific team that may just be using you as practice fodder?

T.J. Watt
6'4 252 lbs, 4.69 40, 21 reps, 37 vert, 128 broad
Samson Ebukam:
6'2 240 lbs, 4.45 40, 24 reps, 39 vert, 132 broad

TJ Watt is predicted to go in the second round. Let that sink in...

I think I am going to change my prediction to early 5th round.

Samson would be the perfect Leo DE/LB in Pete Carroll's system for Seattle, formerly filled by Bruce Irvin. I hope the Hawks grab him up.

I'm reading Ebukam has gotten workouts with the Bengal and Packers. No word yet on interest from Seattle.

On a related note, Bourne got a workout with the Titans!

John Schneider spoke to Russell Wilson ONCE (to tell him they weren't going to draft him) before resisting the urge to pull the trigger in the 1st and 2nd rounds in 2012. Workouts don't mean much with Seattle.

Samson also worked out with Pittsburgh.

Proud to have two quality Eagles repping (so far)...sweeeet!

Kupp, Ebukam 1st Big Sky players called in NFL Draft
http://skylinesportsmt.com/kupp-ebukam

Some notes:

- Kupp's selection is the highest by a Big Sky player since Montana CB Trumaine Johnson went 65th in 2012

- Kupp and Ebukam being drafted gives the Big Sky a school with two NFL draft picks in one year for second straight year. Miles Killebrew and LeShaun Sims of Southern Utah both were picked last year.

- Kupp is the second-highest player ever drafted from EWU, behind only Michael Roos (2nd round, 41st overall).

- Kupp and Ebukam are the 17th and 18th EWU players to be drafted. The others:

What a bizarre turns of events. Great job by both kids. Is there any chance KB or Shaq get a shot?

I'm sure they'll get a shot. I'd be a bit surprised if they get drafted, though. More likely invitations to a camp via free agency. But I'd love to see anothe r Eagle get his name called.

Wow! Tears. The end (or near end) of a near perfect Eagle season. Two Eagles picked by The Rams. Good luck Mr. Ebukam. Go Eags; roll out The Red!

Look at the paths for Cooper and Samson.
Cooper definitely has the lineage and he has worked all through high school and college to attain his dream of the NFL.
Samson on the other is from Nigeria and difficult upbringing. His parents wanted better for their kids so went to great lengths to move the family to America. He didn't even start playing football till a later point but he too gave his all to be the best he could be.
End result, welcome to the NFL and the same team!
Congratulations guys, I am sure you will continue to be successful. :thumb:

Bold and controversial opinion:

Ebukam will have a more successful NFL career than Kupp. He is a phenomenal athlete and will get coached up very well with the Rams.

Oops ! :ohno:

Why the head shake? Isn't Ebukam every bit an eagle as Coop?

Definitely Bold. But I don't think it's a crazy prediction. If it plays out the way you say it might I think it will have more to do with Jared Goff (or whoever Coop's QB ends up being) than it has to do with Cooper. If Coop get's even close to quality QB play than I think Coop has the better career. I see where you're coming from with Samson though. The right coaching and he could and should do some great things. I like the bold prediction.

go eags!
