Has anyone heard the status of the rumored $1.00 tickets for this game? If and where they will be available...etc?

I just made copies of this ad and placed them on all the bulletin boards at work. If the word gets out about 1/2 price tickets and $1 youth tickets, people will come. Also, the Utah/BYU game starts at 4:00pm so fans can come to the Weber State game and get home in time to watch the other game. By the way, the Wildcats are the only Division 1 team from the state of Utah that has a chance to play for a national championship!

Purplefogdog,

will you be doing anythign on campus with week with ur organization to help the cause?

Who is in charge of getting students to the game? Is it athletics, student gov't, or the alumni associations responsibility? It would make sense why there weren't any students at the games if Marketing were liable for student attendance, since they do such a lousy job attaining the support of the community, and getting the word out (I don't want to sound pretentious, but isn't that their damn JOBS). The marketing dept. can be described in two words pathetic and incompetent.

However, the marketing department is not responsible for student attendance. I've never been so embarrashed for Weber State and Ogden Utah. Weber has excellent athletic teams and there is no support. At very least, I'd think that the students would participate, but at the last two events I went to (home football game against Portland State and the basketball game) there was just a handful of students in attendance, and out of those students there were only a small group that were vocal. Some guy with a Weber State banner was really loud, but the rest just sat on their butts. It seemed as if they were more excited about getting text messages than supporting the team. I really think some butts need to be kicked. I'm quite familiar with the set up on campus, and know many boosters. Are the advisors holding their student leaders responsible? Those leaders that are receiving scholarships, stipends, or fellowships should be ashamed of themselves. None of them should dare say that they are hard working. In my opinion they are lazy and should lose their monetary support and be replaced by students who would follow through and honor their commitments. Student leadership is for the best and the brightest of students. Surely, Weber has better leaders than what I've seen? I hope somebody gets the word out this week and gets students in the seats.

I just learned of a group on campus called the Purple Pack that is suppose to get students to the games. Well, what are they waiting for? I'm very familiar with campus, and I have not seen anything promoting this or any other athletic event for some time. I hope the school doesn't waste money giving the leaders money, because they don't deserve it.

I couldn't have said it any better... I do think Bev does a good job, and that the PurplePak is more active than not, but there is still so much more that they could do. I hope that there are over 10,000 fans at the game on Sat... That would be awesome! I'm hoping that 500 Students show up....that would be almost a miracle (out of 21,650).

If everyone does just a little to spread the word around it will pay big dividends. I feel it will have to be us loyal fans to get the ball rolling for saturday and for next year as well. if we make enough noise, eventually we will bw heard.
