Sat: WSU @ NAU - TV

The game starts at 6:35... Since it is on TV, will there still be a gathering at the Alumni Center to watch the game? By the way, what station is the game going to be played on? I'm sure the feed from Big Sky TV will be taken from Fox Arizona, so even if you don't have the station, watching it on Big Sky TV should be far better than a regular Big Sky TV game.

I was under the impression that the Alumni Center get together was for both games... Oh well, is there going to be gathering for the NAU game somewhere else then? If the game is on TV, then we might be able to watch it at the UV...It was pretty fun watching the Eastern game with the Volleyball team. Hey CATCAT maybe you should invite them to come watch again.

How can we watch Sat game at UV?

The reason we aren't watching both in the Alumni Center is I don't think Bev wants to hang out 2 nights at work..LOL!

That and she isn't a big fan of basketball in general.

More or less I assumed we just didn't want to ask her to come over there twice.

If it's truly on Fox Sports Arizona (I never trust Fox Sports listings here in Montana but I'm thinking that's the local newspaper's fault) then the tv and radio announcer will most likely be NAU's normal commentators - Mitch Strohman and Dave Brown. They will be doing play-by-play on bigskytv.org as well.

Guess I'm biased but I find em both to be enjoyable, professional and passionate about their job. I thought Mitch was going to have a coronary during the NAU-Portland State game.

Media coverage of Big Sky basketball is bordering atrocious here in Montana so I'm just happy to follow basketball any way I can.

No 3-0 sweeps by either team this year. NAU wins at home and Weber wins at home. Keeping my fingers crossed for a third meeting for the Big Sky championship.

I really like the NAU guys, they even read my email during the PSU game probably during ur coronary! lol
"we have an email from a Weber fan..."

LOL!

Look for lots of 3's. Within the last few weeks both of our teams have had a game with 15 3's! Pretty crazy they can shoot that well.

THIS JUST IN !!!!! Rumor has it that SMJCPA will be having a party at his place Saturday night to watch the game on the big screen. Also that there will be all you can eat Ligori's pizza and chicken wings there. Plus no cover charge. All are invited. PM SMJCPA for more details..

I would like to take this opportunity to rescind my previous (quoted above) statement. After watching the end of the second half of tonight's NAU-ISU game, I'm going on record that NAU will not beat Weber State in Flagstaff.

If Weber plays at NAU the same way they played at Sac St, anything can happen.

The Standard said that the Cats should be ready because NAU is really angry after Thursday's game, which they lost to ISU. Regardless of the Lumberjacks anger over their performance this season, do they happen to remember the last time they played Weber? It was in Portland, and it was a game they never should have won.. The refing was, to be mild, blatantly in favor of NAU. I think Kyle Landry went to the free throw line every single time he touched the ball. While on the other side of the court the Cats were getting ganged raped and nothing was being called. Even with the poor refs (curry, buzz cut, and the Joke) Weber was still in it at the end of the game, till, with just over a min remaining, Weber State's Dez Harris was literrally thrown out-of-bounds by NAU's Josh Wilson... It cleary was a foul and would have finally put the Cats in the double bonus (NAU had been getting two shoots for 8 or 9 min) but instead the geniuses in stripes said that Dez had fallen out-of-bounds... LOOOOOOL. If anyonem, Weber should be the ones bringing the storm today in Flagstaff and for the rest of the season!! Weber should have been playing the Big Sky Championship last year instead of NAU. Not only do the Cats need this for inspiration, but the Jacks sweeped Weber last year, this, also, should inspire the Cats..

Standard:

Thursday was the fourth time that NAU (5-13, 2-5) had lost a game where the Lumberjacks had a double-digit lead in the second half. Earlier in the season NAU led Northern Colorado by 11 on the road but lost 81-79. NAU also had 16-point leads over Portland State at home and at Montana; however, the Lumberjacks lost both games by one point.

While the Lumberjacks have plenty of extra motivation to pick up a victory tonight, they're not alone,

"There's no reason that they should be any hungrier than we are," Rahe said. "We have a chance to steal another game and get another road sweep."

WSU, which is 3-0 on the road in league play, is in a great position to earn its second two-game road sweep in conference play. The last time WSU had two road trip sweeps in the same season was during the Wildcats' perfect run through the Big Sky in 2003.

During their three Big Sky road wins, the 'Cats have shot 46 percent from the field while holding their opponents to 40. They have also won the rebounding battle, grabbing 35.3 rebounds per game while holding opponents to 31.7.

Baldy's teams are always going to fight, to the bitter end!! Tonights game should be a tight, aggressive, affair.. I'm excited to go down to the Alumni center to watch it. Maybe the Big Sky will come again and show the rest of the schools which university is the best in the conference! Weber!! GO CATS!
