Saturday Home Game...

Folks:

Just a reminder that ISU has a home game Saturday afternoon with Utah Valley at Reed Gym. Game tips at 2PM.

Everyone knows the team is off to a slow start...but that's not from lack of trying or that they don't care. The team is young...extremely so and they are playing a hard, hard schedule.

With finals coming up it would give the players a mental boost if they could go into them on a winning note. So on behalf of the coaches and players if you can make it out Saturday and offer your support they would appreciate it very much I'm sure.

This is a winnable game Saturday, it won't be easy but it can be won.

The most recent Sports Illustrated features an article about former UCLA star Ed O'Bannon, who's currently living in Henderson NV and is a sales manager for a Toyota dealership there. Ed has a daughter, Jazmin, who's a freshman at Utah Valley and has a promising career for the Wolverines.

Boise:

I saw that, mentioned it during the Utah game. She is not playing this year though for UVU. Don't know if it is because of an injury or they simply wanted to redshirt her. Don't know if she'll be in the gym today.

Next week when ISU is at Seattle U. Cedric Ceballos' daughter plays for the Redhawks. Her dad played 12 years in the NBA and was on the 93 Phoenix team that played the Bulls in the finals. He also was on the All Star team in 1995.

Gang:

If you weren't out at Reed today you missed a hell of a game. ISU down 16-2 to start the game and down 14 early in the second half yet fought back to win 68-67 on two Megan Hochstein free throws with :08 seconds left.

Becca broke out of her shooting slump, Kenyon went off in the second half, Anna Lee was very solid (five blocks), Woods had another good scoring game and the biggest surprise was Porcia's play. Breakout game for her. Badly needed with Lemon having a very rough day.

Nice team effort for the win, we'll see if this is a turning point for the young team.

Next home game on December 29th, 7PM...hope you can come out.
