Saturday weather

Well here we go again, shitty weather on game day. As this time the forecast is 25 mph winds, about the same as the Cal Poly game, add to that a 80-90% chance of rain.
If that holds a running team should have a big advantage in this game.

the football is like a one man cold... I'm the only one catching it and the only one coming down with it.. Clifford Franklin... both teams face the same weather...

i bet it clears up just before game time.

This tends to happen. These busy storm often blow through quicker than predicted and it's unusual for us to have more than 36 hours of continuos clouds and frequent rain.

We don't need to throw it all over the field to beat Weber. Just make a few plays in the passing game.

Load up the box and let our secondary prove that last week's mistakes are in the past. Jadrian Clark has thrown as many picks as touchdowns (8) and I'm thinking we add to the former number.

I know we have no control over the conference schedule, but this is why I've always advocated for loading up on front end home games and closing on the road. Cheney is as nice a place as there is in the World in September, but come November, it sucks.

Interestingly, there is a team I know that has been permitted to play all of their home games at the beginning of the season and then load all of their road games at the end of the season. The reasoning, for those who know geography, makes perfect sense.

Barrow, Alaska. The "visitors" side of the field is the Arctic Ocean. That netting around the field is so the ball doesn't hit the frozen turf and skip into the ocean. When they first built the field, they didn't have netting and someone would have to wade into the Arctic to retrieve the balls. The paramedics required at football games spent more time treating the ball retriever for hypothermia than they did assisting in football-related injuries.

Totally, off topic, I know... Sometimes I just ramble.

I. Hate. Domes.

I think we just need a tougher fan base! :thumb:

I don't mind as much watching in the elements. I just don't like how the elements can change a team's performance by taking them out of their game plan and primary strengths. In 2010, I thought we outplaying the Bison in the first half, and Taiwan Jones was running roughshod through their defense. Then it snowed during halftime. Both teams struggled with the weather, and TJ got injured. It was ugly, sloppy, and we almost lost a game it looked like we should win before halftime. It took a couple miracles to tie that game. It is what it is, and obviously a dome is out of the question. But I really think the domes do some of the good teams some favors, especially when it comes to bad weather!

This Saturday's game is likely going to favor the team that can run the ball the best. I think our running game is not great, but is better when the passing game is solid. Weather could hurt both our passing and running game this weekend.

I hate domes as well, but from November onward, they don't offend me nearly as much.

Having Covered stands would be awfully nice. The one really nice thing about Portland State's stadium is that it's covered. In Europe, covered stands are the norm.

Having been to every venue in the BS I agree the covered seats are the best

Gonna eat crow. The weather was impactful, if only in the heads of the players and coaches. Definitely a factor. Game ain't over, but with 2 minutes left, it's been ugly. Really coming down now.
