Bamforth, a 6-2 senior guard from Albuquerque, N.M., averaged 20.5 points, three assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 rebounds per game as the Wildcats earned conference wins over Northern Colorado and North Dakota. Bamforth was 10-of-15 from 3-point range and 15-of-25 from the floor in the two games.

Bamforth scored a season-high 22 points, hitting 5-of-7 3-pointers with three steals and two assists in just 22 minutes in a 79-54 win over Northern Colorado on Thursday, Jan. 3. He scored 19 points, hitting 5-of-8 from 3-point range with four assists, two steals and two rebounds in 26 minutes of action in a 95-63 win over North Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Bamforth is the fourth different Weber State player to win the honor this season.

Side note, why does it seem that everytime a Weber player is player of the week they alwyas have to share the honor?

If we have to share the award, I am glad it was with the kid from SUU and not Montana.

Scotty is playing at a high level right now and really doing an excellent job of leading the Cats. If Scotty stays consistent, I'm not really worried, because if Scotty doesn't have a good game, I'm sure there is another Cat who will step up and do what is necessary to help the Cats. Weber has sooo many weapons. I love it!! What should scare the Sky, is that Weber has another awesome class joining the team next year.

I don't really remember Damon Heuir being that good. How on earth did he get to the FT line 14 times? No matter, pretty cool for the T-Birds that they got one of their duders a POTW award.

4 different weber players getting Big Sky POTW in an 8 week span to start the year. i have never seen this before at weber.

There really isn't much competition coming from other Sky programs. Also, Weber is the only program that has competed against good teams other than the Grizz, but one example or common opponent: look at Weber's score against BYU vs. Montana's. :ohno:

Weber was at home though when they lost to the Y. I am sure UM would have done better against the cougars in Montana.

yes, provo is an interesting venue. a 10 pt loss at home is a 30 pt loss in provo.

The Montana-BYU game was played in Salt Lake at ESA.

Yes. Montana's game with YBU was in Salt Lake, but they used WCC refs, and Montana got hosed the same way they would have in Provo. Now, if you have nuetral site with nuetral refs, you've got a more fair setup. When we play at YBU, we have BSC refs, but, for what ever reason, they don't seem to be able to give us what WCC refs are able to deliver for YBU. Yet another issue that the BSC needs to address with its officials.

big sky refs get starstruck. sad to say. i guess byu is big time to them. yet they remain in the big sky yr after yr, the audition obviously isn't panning out.

Maybe we should start a move to get a new director of officiating in the BSC. Marla. or whatever her name is, really sucks. She is more interested in how their shoes are shined than how they call the game. I think she is clueless about sports in general. let alone basketball officiating. The BSC could bring in a fifth grader and get a better job done.

Fire Her!! :ohno:
