Scrimmage #1

I know that we all love to hammer the Salt Lake media for being Cougar and Ute homers, but they are the only ones who published anything about Saturday's football scrimmage (and that, regrettably, includes the athletic department as well). Here is the link: https://www.ksl.com/?sid=45405881&nid=1153&title=defense-controls-tempo-in-wildcats-1st-scrimmage-of-fall-camp.

I didn't get a chance to attend the scrimmage, but from what I have heard is that the defense totally dominated the offense, which is to be expected. We all knew that the strength of this season's team would be the defense. We are legitimately two deep at every position and at some a solid 3 deep (secondary). The offense is somewhat inexperienced at certain positions. We know that we have talent; especially the tight ends and the receivers. The line has talent and depth, but lacks experience. They are getting better and by the time camp ends, I predict will be playing a lot better. Coach Myers knows his stuff and I have total faith in his abilities to get the most out his players.

Justin Shaw and the freshman look good in the 2nd scrimmage. Really excited for this freshman class, especially the WRs and RB Josh Davis. Shaw really pushing Cantwell at QB.
