Sears extension

The vagueness of the “multi year” description leads me to believe this is a two-year extension. Which I think it pretty fair.

Sears will have the chance he earned to take this team to the next level. But, if next year is a complete sh1t the bed situation, Orr can go with his guy and eat just one year.

Just so you know, no way 2-9, 3-8, 5-6 expect playoff Big Sky title with returning team.

Let’s hope so, but next year’s schedule won’t be as soft...

I agree next year schedule is going to be tougher and challenging especially on the road. However, each road team also need to figure out a few things before next season. Most of the skill positions for Montana return including the quarterback. However they need to replace 4 of the 5 starting offense lineman.. Both Weber and SUU need to replace their quarterbacks. I know all 3 of these places have not been kind to us in the past(especially Montana) but we are in a good position to maybe get a win or 2 in these places. Even though we are better than UCFE, you never know what will happen during this game.

Now we need another solid recruiting class to help build upon what we saw this season. With the coaching situation now out of the way, hopefully the stability will help in that regard. Cross your fingers.

"Multi-year" I see.

What are we speculating fellas/gals? I'm thinking it's a 3 year-extension. I'm hoping* that it's a year with the second year being a school-option.

Agree with OH. This team will be stacked for the 2018 season and the expectations have to (should) be a BSC title and/or a playoff berth. Anything less will be a disappointment. 2019 the team will be filling a lot of voids due to graduation but if Thomson gets a medical RS then we shouldn't drop off too much offensively.

I'm interested to see what the terms of the contract will be when finalized. Sears has all the leverage so I would be surprised if it's less than a 3 year deal. Hopefully he and his staff get good raises (somewhere in the range of $220k base salary for Sears) and better incentives for success (these are a total joke in the expiring contract).
