Seat enforcement?

Couple of my buddies have been getting student tickets from friends of friends and sitting there for the playoffs. He recommended I buy the cheap seats and come sit with them in the student section...has anyone noticed any issues with this during the playoffs? He did mention the student section has been empty and folks have been moving forward throughout the games.

In terms of "cheaping out" it's my understanding all the money goes to the NCAA and isn't hurting EWU at all in terms of revenue.

Yeah... there is plenty of seating in the student section — and all over the stadium for that matter. The far left and far right of the student section have been nearly 100% empty the last game or two.

Student section has been empty, however I am not sure about your statement on EWU revenue and the playoffs. When listening to Larry on the Flight report last week or the week before they talked about how much money would need to be made in order not "owe" the NCAA. Don't quote me but I thought he said that playoff games were around 70,000 that would be given to NCAA for hosting games, even higher seed games. I am not positive what our ticket revenue is each game. I'll look back to see if I can find it.

Yes the NCAA gets the money but EWU is responsible for the amount they bid, plus they need a lot of revenue to feed players during the semester break. We all have a certain amount of "cheapness" in us but the athletic dept needs money.
My understanding from Coach Bests perspective, he wants fans in the stands that are yelling their asses off for home field advantage.

We need butts in seats...saw a bunch scaling the fence on the southern border last game with no security in sight. Seemed like a caravan coming out of Dressler.

When I was a student, they had people at the gate scanning student IDs to prevent such cheapskates. Wonder why they don't do that anymore.
