• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

A few observations after watching the Viks in their first few games. If this team has any chance of being competitive this year they have to figure out a way of limiting their turnovers and defending the paint. Turnovers led to 20+ points by SU and could have been the difference in the game. A number of them appeared to be due to a tendency of certain players to play at too fast a pace and throwing the ball away while under the slightest pressure. They need to slow it down, make more careful passes, and emphasize protecting the ball above all else until this this relatively large group of newcomers get comfortable playing with each other. Also, I think that Parry needs to be the starting point guard ASAP. She has shown an ability to handle the ball, make good passes, and provide a little scoring when needed. She will only improve with more experience and, more importantly, will relieve Lanz of the burden of not having to run the offense, and allow her to focus on what she does best, score. Lanz plays a lot of minutes and her play and passes seems to drop off in the second half of games, which is to be expected coming off major knee surgery. The other change that Murrell needs to make is a switch to more of a zone defense. SU and St. Mary's both killed us in the paint with dribble penetration and passing in to the post. Until Misa returns to game condition, and can play more minutes, we need to deny the post and force opponents into outside shooting as much as possible.
