Seattle vs. Weber

Looks like Portland State beat Seattle on Wed night 83-76, even though Seattle had a strong run in the 2nd half almost tying the score. Recently Seattle beat Oregon State and Montana State, but lost to Cal Poly, Uc Davis , UC Irvine and Louisiana Tech.

Your predictions for Saturday's results from the Dee?

Seattle beat MSU at home and Oregon State is terrible. Seattle has to play at the Dee. Its not going to be pretty for them.

I think this game is going to be a great display for our Cats. Remembering back to last year, when we played them up there, we played them very tough and came away with a disappointing loss (losing by 4). This year our team is better plus they want their revenge. I am predicting a win by double digits for the Cats.

I think WSU wins this in the first half. I know they beat OSU, but yet agian, so did UVU..... So I think we take care of buisness early and Lillard pats the stats...

WSUfan, recently I was surfing the sports channels and saw a replay of the Seattle/OSU game. Seattle came from behind to win, and OSU didn't challenge Seattle inside and Seattle's bigs scored pretty easily. Our guys will play more physically and Seattle won't be able to move unchallenged.

I am looking forward to this game, Seattle is a good team and our 2nd best non-conference home game this year LOL. I know Seattle beat us up there last year and I know that loss didnt sit well with some of the WSU players.
I say WSU wins by 10-15pts.
Btw, can anybody explain why in the hell does this game start at 2?

AJ, the game is at 2 because the refs have to turn in their dark glasses and white canes by 5pm ---oops, did I say that?
Truly I have no idea why it is early?

I don't know why it is at 2pm. However, I don't think they would do that unless the Dee is scheduled for the evening or Seattle had some compelling reason, like their pilot doesn't fly in the dark

Come from behind win 65-61. No quit in the guys, but as Coach Rahe said in the radio interview, they have to quit getting behind and coming back, many teams won't let them do that this season.

For starters, you have to give the kids kudos for thier never back down never quit attitude, but heyoh22 is right, We cant keep fighting from behind, we now have 2 road games to play and I know SUU sucks, but we cant let them get way up on us, Tulsa will finish us off if we let them, and BYU....need I say more?

Lillard still hasnt gotten over the Alaskan Cold he had, he is still playing with plenty of emotion and aggression, but his shot still hasnt returned, But Im not worried, he'll get it back.

Our bigs need to do a better job, dont be affraid to go up strong, DUNK it if you have to. But they did do a good job on the offensive rebounding.

Now I have to give my kudos to Seattle, they are good team with alot of energy, and good shooters, not as good as Drake's but pretty decent and they played great defense in the second half.

Now a win is a win, and I'll take it, a crappy win is better than a loss ANYDAY. Well not crappy, but it could have been better.

It was great to see Trevor Morris be a big factor in this game. He had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and shot 70%. He only had 2 fouls. Those are all conference type of numbers. Seattle is a better team than their record shows I think.

Scott Bamforth is going to make the conference schedule interesting. With us having maybe 2-3 different big time threats it will be much needed for the games that count. We willl see Scott get more minutes. His outside shooting is the best we have seen since Kellen McCoy.

This was actually my first game that I have been able to attend this year. I have been out of state traveling for work, at work, or had family obligations that prevented me from attending previously.

First of all, I really, really like the upgrades to the video and sound system. They are really cool! Major kudos to Graybeal for getting the $ for those upgrades. The intro video was really good - I have to really compliment whoever put that together.

This was a very ugly game- neither team could shoot. Weber missed a lot of wide open shots. Good thing Seattle missed a lot of free throws or it would be a loss.

Weber has a lot of potential - It appears that the big men are starting to get better and improve. Need the guards to start hitting the outside jumper to keep the defense honest and to open up the inside.

Good to see Lillard pass the ball at the end of the game for the last second shot - this will keep a defense honest. Even though Hughey missed the shot, it was good to spread it around.

I am very excited about the potential of this team. We see this every year with a Rahe coached team. The offense struggles early. They play solid defense and rebound the ball very well. Then sometime in mid to late December, the offense catches up and then they go postal on the Big Sky.

Ugly game to watch, but still good to get a win.

One other note - the opening music was OK- better than Crowd Chant, but still not as good as Joker. Come on- play the Joker at the beginning of the game. It's really not the hard to do.

The music at the game was terrible. Weber is making a run, the crowd is in the game, Seattle takes a Time Out and what happens, some crap comes on. Seriously? Who is the DJ and why is he/her/it still employed. Talk about taking the crowd out of the game. Isn't that the purpose of having music at the game? To keep the crowd in it?

Anybody have any thoughts on Bamforth's apparent short leash with Rahe.. I know he made a couple of turnovers in the first half(bad pass, stepped out of bounds), but he was put in with about 17:30 in the 2nd and yanked a minute or two later after he pump faked a three stepped in side and missed a jumper, Rahe looked pissed after that, not following his shot???? I don't know. Rahe puts him in with 2 minutes left and he calmly
hits the go ahead three and sinks 4 free throws in a row. Rahe said in the post game that Scott knows if somebody is not playing well, somebody else
will be on the floor. I'm confused as to why he isn't getting more minutes??????
Bullinger takes some of the most ill-advised shots sometimes he missed a couple layups in the same sequence, and Bamforth gets yanked for not follwing his shot. I know Im missing something?

I'm not sure if moving Bullinger to the 4 has helped him this season or not. He seems like the same player as last year at the 4. Should Bullinger be moved to the 4, Hughey the 3, and Bamforth starting at the 2, and Mahoney off the bench. Should Bamforth be starting over Bullinger? Probably not Hughey???
It just seems like we've been struggling, we probably should have beat Seattle by at least 20.
SUU and Tulsa are a little scary on the road the way we played Saturday and considering how we came back versus Drake.

What about this?

Either A. Bullinger come off the bench subbing for Fulton.

or B. Mahoney come off the bench subbing for Fulton. In other words, I think we should start Fulton.

With Bullinger coming off the bench-Morris at the 5, Mahoney at the 4, Byron Fulton at the 3, and Hughey at the 2 and Lillard at the point.

With Mahoney off the bench it would be Morris 5, Bullinger 4, Fulton 3, Hughey 2 and Lillard 1

Fulton has been playing very well, maybe we should give him a chance.
