Who does it go to?

The O-line: TJ has been getting well deserved attention all year and is the first one to point to the o-line. Chris Powers has really matured into a great center. Nikolai has been a beast all year. Post and Jackson have held it down all year on the edge. And freshman Steve Forgette has carried on the proud tradition of Eagle left guards wearing the #70 jersey :D :D :D ..... The oline dominated the big bad CAA Nova dline all day, getting 100 yds for a very green true freshman running back. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

"Big Time" Brandon Kaufman: How bout showing his break away speed on that 75 yard td?!?!?! This kid is special- and he is sooo much more than corner routes in the red zone.

Nick Edwards: Took the reigns after Taiwan was out and had the biggest game of his career. His work on short passes was highly impressive.

The D-line: The other TJ and Renard wreaking havoc in the backfield really limited what the run heavy Nova offense could do. Not to mention huge games by Ceja and a HUGE game by Paul Ena.

LB's and secondary: JC Sheritt, Matt and Zach Johnson, Ty Washburn, Jesse Hoffman, Jeff Minnerly. Maybe some of the best defensive performances ever seen at EWU. Hard hitting, smash mouth football. I want to give special props to Minnerly. I know first hand that Jeff works as hard as anyone on this team. He is a selfless team player. I was so happy to see his interception to basically seal the game. I generally don't believe in guys "deserving" success, but that is as close as it gets.

THE FANS: Unfortunately, was unable to make the game as a result of a new job and a move to Portland. But watching the game on ESPN made me so proud to see the community come out and support this great team.

Coaches: Coach B and all the others have done a marvelous job in shaping this team and getting them ready for success. Coach Best and Coach Baldwin were masterful in the play calling.

BLM: Played within, made good choices, and really elevated his game. Played as well as he's played EVER.

Gotta say, one of the best examples of a team effort to win a football game. Now, on to FRISCO!!! Really wish I could make it...

GO EAGS!

I think the fans should get it...sure I'm not alone in that I'm totally worn out, haven't slept in days and sore from hoping up and down so much(think I blew out an acl and/or a hammy).

That was the best performance by the offensive line that I have seen all year long. The pass protection was simply brilliant. Nova's defense never really seemed to get to Mitchell. And we have seen exactly how good BLM can be when all the chips are on the line. That was his best performance of the year. Sound decision making, no TO's - read the blitz as well as any QB I have seen at this level.

I was so incredibly impressed with Super Mario. Posted it in another thread, but I said before the season even started that he is going to have a huge career at Eastern. Reminds me of Rex Prescott a little from back in the 90's. Some of his cut-backs were just sick. I questioned the decision to not redshirt him a little bit, but now I understand why they did. He has made a solid contribution to the team this year. I am a little concerned with our depth at running back a little bit going into the NC game. If Mario gets injured Beumonte is the only one with any amount of reasonable PT. He is a bruiser for sure, but he doesn't have the speed TJ or even Brown does.

Kaufman and Edwards were both just awesome.

Renard, JC, Johnson bro's, Jeff Minnerly, Paul Ena, Jerry Ceja........this defense is the best I have seen at Eastern.

Excellent post. I would submit that Beaumonte is not as quick as TJ or Brown, but he sure is fast. He's consistently the first one down on kickoff coverage.

Mitchell. He's better when the pressure is on. I think he will play well when in the chipper to.

True. DB does have a lot of speed, and you can see that on his special teams play without a doubt. The blocked punt in the Montana game comes to mind. I guessI was talking quickness versus speed.

It would be interesting to see how Beaumonte would do given an offense like SEMO's. But I'll take our offense anyday :D

This is so SPOT ON the O-LINE MADE a STATEMENT !!! GOEAGS!

What about Matt Johnson who completely shut down Villanova's playmaker that all but won them a championship last season? Any list of guys would be a good one, but if I had to give it to one guy, he'd be my choice.

I'd have no compaints about Mitchell getting it, though. He made good decisions and key plays all night long.

The Ref's from the NDSU game!!!!!!!!

The Bison got gifted 5 turnovers, two missed FGs, a kickoff return for TD, and still got beat. Then they go to blaming the officials, which might be a legit reason if they got homered by a Big Sky regular season crew... the problem is that it was a SoCon crew with no vested interest AND the use of replay on all calls.

Get over it NDSU, you got beat fair and square--- and it should have been worse.

Nine tackles, forced fumble, recovered fumble and a pick, just another day at the office for Matt Johnson. There are many reasons I've been confident we could get to the title game, the Johnson twins are toward the top of that list. The big play history of these two guys began in Lubbock in 2008 and it will continue when we visit Texas again. #1, #7, #9 and #80 were also huge last Friday night on the Red. But this game was won on the line. The game ball goes to the guys in the trenches. They dominated on both sides of the ball. They will do the same on January 7.
