I am thinking a name change is in order for this team: Weber State Bipolarcats.
I am waiting to see who shows up tonight. If the team from last night and about half the season shows up, Weber wins by about 7 points.
If the other team that lost to Idaho, PSU, UNC, SUU… shows up, we are due for a butt kicking.

Fact remains 6th year of the 8 year extension for Rahe…0 titles. Who knows what the Portal will hold, but if not a major success, a drop off is coming.
Honestly, the 2016 title was very fortunate…I think Montana stumbled worse down the stretch than Weber State…both teams couldn’t hit shots in the final 4-5 minutes…and Bovee gave Rahe a career contract. That’s the last close tournament game Weber State won. Oh well.

It definitely doesn't erase the disappointments again this season, but at least Weber State showed they still had fight in them & did till the end in this tourney...was a better showing & they proved this doubter wrong. If they are done playing or have a CIT invite, whatever, wishing good luck to these Wildcats in their future.

I hope this is the end of the Season. I could see going to CIT or something if you had a young team that needed development….. but this team had their hoops experience! Put the funds into buying out Rahe

They probably already have a 2-3 year extension in the works for Rahe…failing that, they’d probably hire Duft.

msu was the best team in the big sky no doubt about it. we had 3 chances to beat them and lost twice. they have 27 wins and are going to the dance, no easy ones in smaller post season tournaments. if you can win 25 games and lose less than 10 you are always going to be #1 in the sky. winning 20 now is like winning 15 games 15 yrs ago, its no longer the benchmark of great success when you can get 3 wins from non d1's and you can count on 10 conf wins from an 18-20 big sky schedule where 4-5 teams are sub-300 RPI.
in 2002 wsu was pretty good under cravens, the team finished 3rd, lost in the semifinal and that was it. there was no cbi or cit in existence. tht was the yr we beat LSU, wisconsin and Colorado St. they played 14 conf games and you only played in the big sky tourney if you finished in the top 6. we didnt think they sucked finishing 18-11. it used to be common to play less than 30, i forgot what rule it was where you played 27-28 games vs 30. i think something to do with early nonconf tournaments.
my only hope is this is the new msu with sprinkle. its so much better for the sky if we can have more than 2 decent teams.
