Seniors

I know the Cats still have a couple games left to play this season. Yes, I think the Cats are as good and a hell of a lot better than a lot of teams in the NIT. I would love to see them get a couple of W's in the tourny this year. It will give them a lot of respect for next season.

Anyway, I think its appropriate to applaud the leadership, hard work, and overall character of the two seniors; Nick Hansen and Steve Panos!!

Nick is a player that has never quit. He plays hard no matter what situation the Cats are in and continues to give it his all till the final whistle. I loved his defense this week. He was in the seats and on the floor a lot as he chased down loose balls and deflected passes. In my opinion, he is going to be sorely missed. Its hard to find a guy like Nick. He is just a great guy, definitely a man of substance and strong character. I hope he has another night like the UNC home game where he is lights out on offense and a shut down defender on defense. I don't have to worry about him playing hard. Thats automatic for Nick.

Panos...a four year letterwinner and a three time Big Sky champ will be sorely missed. He is a pure leader at all times for his teammates. He is a bruiser in the paint that has been forced to play bigger a lot in his career and has, each time, done his absolute best. He is an anchor of stability for the team and for the programs success. Steve has deserved to play in the NCAA's three times, but unfortunately, luck hasn't been on his side a couple of times. No matter, we can all count on him giving his all at the NIT and for the team.

Good luck next week. I hope your seasons and careers don't end till you earn a trip to the Big Apple and the Garden!
