Thursday Night, Shai Fields On ESPN
Weber State signee Shai Fields' Yates High School (Houston, TX), will play Findlay Prep (Henderson, NV) on Thursday night at 7 pm on ESPN. ESPN is showing six appearances of the nation's top three teams in the preseason POWERADE FAB 50. In the POWERADE FAB 50 high school basketball national rankings has Yates at #18 and Findlay is #4. The nationally televised game will take place at Texas Southern University in Houston.
In the POWERADE FAB 50 top 20 regional rankings they have Yates High at #2 in the Southwest Region Top 20. The Southwest Region includes Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Last season Yates was #1 as the FAB 50 champion with a 34-0 record and Texas 4A state champion. They currently have won 64 games in-a-row.

Outlook: Graduation losses are plenty, but with coach Greg Wise's system of pressing and quick rotations off a 12-deep club, returnees such as Santee, SG Shai Fields (6-3, Sr.) and PF Charles Lewis (6-6, Sr.) are prepared to step up. Last season Yates set national records for scoring average (116.2) and consecutive 100-point games (15), but the Lions displayed the ability to win close ones as well.
In the West Region Top 20 there are no teams from the state of Utah ranked.
