On the plus side, letting Wilcox fire his OC and OL coaches (McClure) signals from Admin he’ll have another year or two to right the ship IMO (especially because they extended him…)

But, does he try to swipe Taylor for OC?

If I was TT, I’d keep building what I have at SAC because Wilcox is a dead man walking anyways, and he’ll likely have his choice of the HC gig then - rather than go down with the Wilcox regime 13 months from now…

I think SF is a special place, doesn't mean I want to live there.

He has options:
1. Always be the fondly remembered QB who could do no wrong and loved by Cal fans.
2. Always be the relegated ex-QB who was fired after three years like every other Cal coach?

How many coaches have retired coaching Cal football?
I guess if you are paid $3.8M/yr. you are essentially retired the day you sign the contract. What true, meaningful incentive is there to succeed after being guaranteed $$$?

I hope TT wants to built a dynasty in Sac to be forever remembered lovingly by the city/county/school as the Grandfather of Hornet football.

SF is a cesspool. Ever since I was a little kid, anytime I went there I couldn’t wait to leave.

As for Coach Taylor, while anything is possible, I highly doubt he goes there for anything other than the HC gig.

Aside from it being a highly paid FBS gig at his alma mater, the other big reason I could see him leaving the Hornets to be the HC at CAL is because he wouldn’t have to pack up his family and actually move away from SAC.

That said, I believe anything other than the HC gig is remote.

How about let’s not spoil what’s going on with our Hornets right now with negative speculation? Instead let’s only worry about it when there is actually something to worry about.

Our Hornets are 10-0 with their biggest game of the season upcoming….

Exactly. This season has been too enjoyable to worry about anything else. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, plenty of time to speculate after the season. We are 10-0, relish the moment.

I was trying to be politically correct. Yes it is a cesspool, the whole Bay area.

Angus McClure was also a casualty of this shakeup.

We're fans of the program, not on the team - this is a message board and it's okay to post news and speculation about the future lol...

Of course it’s ok. There aren’t many rules here, as far as I can tell. You can do whatever you want.

I just don’t get the point right now and why you wanna live in that speculation headspace. Wouldn’t it be infinitely more fun to live in the moment and enjoy this ride the program is currently on?

That’s what I’m gonna do. Apparently SD is choosing to do the same.

Have fun with this. I’ll re-visit in the offseason if/when it actually becomes relevant.

Gotcha.
