Its time to monitor Joel's dunks. I thought it would be hard to believe that any would touch Harold but Patten beat him by 6 dunks in a season. After Dave I then thought no one will touch the general. Joel is a true and just dunked four times in 17 minutes, even against SW High it was still a lot of dunks.

He reminded me of Patten last night. Catch thr ball and just turn and jump and dunk, dont matter who in thr way. That was patten's game in 07 when he won thr big sky MVP, 1/3 of all his FGs he made tsht season were dunks...very shaquillesque...i think Joel could be doing that type of game and more. He has so much potential. Him and Patten are diff players but dunkwise very alike.

Patten had 7 in a game and 54 ina season. Harold had 48 in a season.

Patten was an amazing dunker hence competing in the ESPN college basketball dunk contest in 2007.

No one though has the ability to out dunk the greatest dunker in Weber history...daviin Davis. Don't let your memory fade on Davis. He had wings. I would imagine he is the best in big sky history too. But dunking isn't a real stat.

You're too young to have seen him, but Bruce Collins was amazing. I'm sure that nobody counted them, but he had a ton of dunks and a lot of them were spectacular.

The thing about Joel is that he will just get better. We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. He will morph into a monster. Add Hill, Gittins, and Senglin into that dunkathon for next year. Berry is a fair dunker himself, not to mention the big boys in the middle. Dunks are entertaining and a high percentage shot. I say, the more the better. Three point shots are great, but nothing says 'We will kick your a$$' like a monster dunk. :twocents:

Bolomboy has some potential. You can definately see that. He is still a little raw though and needs to continue to work hard and improve. With a lot of hard work and some development he could be a star. I'm looking forward to seeing that!

I was young but I do remember Bruce Collins. That guy could fly and had some amazing dunks. One that sticks in my mind all these years later was against Montana. He had the ball on the wing right in front of the opposing teams bench, went around his guy like he wasn't there to the baseline and finished a monster dunk over the top of another Montana player. I remember going crazy after that dunk!!! It was emphatic and blew the roof off of a nearly full DEC...

Not fair of me to leave out the old school. I graduated in '06 so guys like Willie and Bruce are before my day...

as for quantity, Joel can own the school career record at the rate he is going and playing four yrs. If hr averages 2 a game which is a lot, that could be 240+. hahhhahhaa.

Patten played 3 yrs, the show, 2.

I'm not sure why people keep saying Bolomboy is Raw??

BYU fans were blown away by this Freshmen @ Weber St. He has a very nice looking 15-17' jump shot. He has progressed more the first 10 games this year, than Hajek has in 3 years with the program. Hajek didn't even come close to dominating against Southwest, he has got to be the biggest disapointment this year.

I agree with your statements Bluefin... Bolomboy has progressed quite a bit so far this season. I think I use the term "raw" meaning that he has potential that is still there to develop and grow beyond what kind of player he even is now. He has potential to dominate and be a star...

I, totally, disagree with the comments on James Hyack. He and Joel are completely different players and are asked to do different things for the team. Yes, James is not a high flier like Joel and never will be. However, James has improved each year, when uninjured, and continues to develop nicely. At 6'10, 250 lbs. he is a muscle type player. At 6'9'', 215 lbs. Joel gives us a different skill set. Both are needed. James would be the starting center on any other BSC teams except us and UM.

This kid is unreal. He still has the lost in the headlights look on offense and struggles passing the ball but is a total athletic freak. He is damn good now think of him in two years. Yikes!! As for Hajek, he is coming along pretty well. He needs to shoot a lot more FTs in practice and not worry about the little things in his game. He thinks too much. He needs to relax a bit more, but he is coming along nicely in my opinion. After a season ending injury last year it's good to see him on the floor.

The 6-foot-9 freshman forward has yet to crack Weber State’s starting lineup, but he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite for his athletic dunks and shot-altering ability.

Both were on display Saturday night as WSU dispatched NAIA school University of the Southwest by 65 points. With an alley-oop here and a two-handed slam there, Bolomboy’s dunks were more entertaining than the game itself as he went 8 for 8 from the field to score a career-high 16 points.
