"Authorities have identified the suspect in this afternoon's fatal beating on the California State University, Sacramento, campus as Quran Jones, a 19-year-old student who lived at the dormitory where the violence occurred."

Horrible event. Condolences to all involved.

Shifting gears....Wonder what they will do with the room the victim was killed in? This occured in the brand new dorms. Hate to have to be the person who makes that decision.

What's it do to the overall reputation and PR of the school?
 
F'ing BS! Where are the cops on campus? Sitting behind the greenhouses waiting for someone to run the stop sign? Get out on foot and walk around!
 
Sounds like this incident happened fairly quickly..but lets not rush to judgment too soon. Seems to me Campus Police responded quickly and they tried to diffuse the suspect with pepper spray to stop him....when that didnt work, well then, we know what happened next.

Very sad. Prayers go out to the Hawkins family and friends.
