Should Gateway include a dome?

We seem to struggle drawing attendance during the most important part of the year. I appreciate the fact that school is out of session for most of the playoffs, but it really looks bad.

I think domes are for pussies (*cough ndsu cough*) and would really hate to see it, but as a perennial December contender in unfavorable weather, would we benefit?

Socratic question.. I say hell no.

Nope.

What could help, though, from an attendance perspective is the fact that they are discussing moving from quarters to semesters. It's on the BOT's agenda.

This would increase our early season (late august/early september) attendance, as well as our late season games. I know cold is an issue, but we'll never get around people being weather wimps.

Interesting trivia, Eastern considered building a multi-purpose domed stadium in the mid-70s... instead they wound up adding Reese Court to the Phase complex. at that time, DI athletics were not really on the table, so spending that kind of money probably seemed extraordinary.

Even more random trivia, when Eastern switched nicknames from the Savages to the Eagles, do you know what the other two nicknames that made the finalist list were? Try to get that one without an internet search...

Not only NO, but Hell NO! Football is to be played outdoors and I can't wait until tomorrow :thumb:
The only thinh I would like to see different in the Gateway is to have the roof, awning ,canopy, whatever you cann it that cover some of the seats. Not only would the seats demand a premium price it would make the place a LOT louder.

Not happening, the BOT voted this last week to stay on quarters, but will now be implementing a live on campus requirement for all freshman starting this next fall.

Both mistakes, IMO, especially the live on campus requirement. That is going to hurt enrollment. :ohno:
