Should we reach out?

What's your thoughts on reaching out to Marquess Wilson/WR who left WSU? He set school single-season records last year with 82 receptions and 1,388 yards receiving. This season, he leads the team with 52 receptions for 813 yards. We are losing a couple of stud receivers.

I thought he was a senior? Regardless, I would assume he would declare for the draft, although I'm not sure how the fiasco with WSU will affect his stock. Certainly won't help him.

Yeah, absolutely. Unless his NFL stock is fine as it is and he knows he'll be drafted, if he needs a place to play and doesn't want to sit out a year, catching passes his senior season from Vernon and Kyle should be an appealing option....one would think.

Marquess Wilson stats:
2010 55 receptions 1006 yds. 6 TD's
2011 82 receptions 1388 yds. 12 TD's
2012 52 receptions 813 yds. 5 TD's (not full season)

I say no. The kid sounds like a joke; call him a better version of the Graves kid at Idaho State. Who wants a plyer that gets disgruntled and runs to the media and gets a lawyer? Sounds like a bad apple. I know some people around WSU and they are all pleased with the job Leach is doing, and said that he just needs some time to sort through these kids. Keep in mind, this is the 5th starter to leave the team since last season... the other kids were all kicked off, this one sort of falls into the kicked off / left voluntarily category.

To drop down from FBS to FCS don't you have to have two years of eligibility left?

And you're right... unless he hasn't used his redshirt yet, it's water under the bridge.

He would be a perfect fit for ISU...he would sure get along with Kramer.

We will be fine at WR next year, if Kauf stays we will be GREAT at WR again.

Wilson is NFL bound...

I agree, he's probably not someone who would be an asset to our team.

I don't agree that Leach is doing a good job. It is pretty classless for a coach to repeatedly berate and belittle his players if front of the media while he takes almost no responsibility for the poor team performances. The comments Leach has made in public should be reserved for the locker room. Wilson behaved exactly as Mike Leach has been behaving since the season started. Apparently Leach was able to instill at least one lesson in Wilson.

Leach is driving WSU's fan base to drink http://deadspin.com/5959805/the-washington-state-fan-chugging-fireball-whiskey-at-saturdays-game-deserves-our-acclaim" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
