SHSU game today

I notice they have 14 wins this season against teams I know little about. Did notice they lost to N. Arizona 12/1 77-60 at NAU. We beat NAU there in OT on 2/9 and waxed them on our court 82-59 back on 1/10. Seems since we have them home we should win this game.

*Sure would like to smoke them...most of you know why.

We turned a blowout into a close game at the end. Our guys really hustled when they had to and worked hard for a win. Interesting note, Winford was there wearing a walking case and dressed in a tie looking professional, unlike our HC

Uncle Fester had them shooting freethrows today...woulda lost if we hit our average. Larry mentioned on the radio we are one of the worst freethrow shooting teams in the NATION. Broke team and conference records for blocked shots yet got killed on the boards(which almost cost us). Gotta get those guards to get a rebound when our bigs are blocking shots(they just are standing around). Overall, a good win for the boys.

Free thrown have got to be a focus and priority for next year. Every player has April- November to practice enough to get it at least respectable if not excellent. And then theres ...

Maybe we need to go back to practicing free throws at half! Just kidding. Great win today and hopefully we string together two home wins next week. Go Eags!!!

Excellent game today :D
They got a great lead and despite a great defensive effort by SHSU they kept their nerve and won the game
This team is really getting it together at the most important time of the season. I'm excited!
Go eags :thumb:

Second game I have been to this year. Our forwards are very athletic. It is easy to see why they are breaking shot block records. They can jump and get up very quickly. This team has huge potential. Why does this team lose large first half leads? Is it inexperience?

One thing I noticed was the missed opportunities to get the ball into the forwards. Many times tonight a quick pass into the key would have got the ball to Seiferth and Jois. Maybe this will come with experience.

Another observation was the difficulty when SHSU was full court pressing. Many times we could not get the ball into play and when we did, we immediately got caught in a trap. Maybe all of this is inexperience and will we will not see this in the future.

Regardless, this team is still fun to watch and I am excited to see how they develop between now and next year.
