Simple: Run GG Run!

1) We played the best offense in college ball in TT with an average EWU defense while trying a new "balanced" offensive plan that nobody knows cause we don't do "balanced" offensive plans.
2) We played the upcoming National Champions in NDSU with an average EWU defense while trying a new "balanced" offensive plan that nobody knows cause we don't do "balanced" offensive plans.

3) Simple: If we want to make things happen offensively GG needs to run the ball. That makes our offense open up/moves chains/give the "D" a rest. GG is at his best when he makes things happen on the run and that's what all the players have been doing the past two years.
4) Oh, he may get hurt and we don't have a proven QB to back him up...Waaa Waaa cry me a river!
5) We continue what we are doing and results just won't be there.
6) Players on this team know what to do from years past so let them do what they do.
7) Best has some decisions to make...do we or don't we...is he stubborn?
8) Run GG Run!

We do seem to be better when he's a threat to run and we seem to be better when the tempo is super fast and relentless. I know that goes away from what we're trying to do, but we're currently built this way. It's obviously going to take some time to change. I'll remain patient and trust that we see some significant improvements over the next few weeks.

BTW, this was posted over at cs.com. Unbelievable. I take back everything I said about the defense. This is abysmal and to add to the article, our first downs by quarter go 5,1,2,1.

Some eye-popping statistics tell the story:

NDSU had a 42:40 to 17:20 edge in time of possession, a record advantage in TOP in the Bison’s Division I era.

That doesn’t tell the entire story. Eastern Washington actually had the TOP advantage after the first quarter, 7:37 to 7:23. That means the Eagles possessed the ball for only 9:43 total over the game’s final three quarters.

But wait, there’s more. NDSU’s edge only got greater in the second half. Eastern had the ball a total of 5:21 in the second half.

Not done yet. Eastern had the ball for 1:43 in the fourth quarter. The Eagles’ TOP numbers looked like this from the first quarter to the fourth: 7:37, 4:22, 3:38, 1:43.

I...... don't want Aaron Best HC'ing at EWU. He's not qualified. If theres anyone who believes EWU's offensive success (while Beau Baldwin was HC) came from Aaron Best as Offensive Coordinator, that person doesn't know Beau Baldwin. That person also doesn't know how skilled of a coach Beau is. EWU's 2004 & 2005 BSC title (with Wulff as HC) was won because of Beau Baldwin. Aaron Best is an O-line coach who's been GIVEN the HC job simply because of his coaching tenure with Eastern Washington. Best is a great person, but EWU FB will suffer with him at the helm. #GoEags
