This is how I've seen every season end. I swear, I'm cursed. I wasn't even around for the lone Randy Rahe tournament we actually won. I'm starting to understand how Boston Red Sox fans felt for so long. :ohno:

2009 Big Sky semifinal loss on home floor vs. Mont. St. (Infamous Will Bynum posterization of Daviin Davis)

2010 Big Sky championship loss on home floor (Anthony Johnson debacle)

2011 Big Sky semifinal loss in Greeley vs. Montana (27-point swing after leading by 10 at half)

2012 Big Sky championship loss in Missoula (Idaho State buzzer beater cost WSU home court)

2013 Big Sky championship loss in Missoula (Missed free throws)

2013 CIT championship loss on home floor (Once again, missed free throws)

3 point defense was our emphasis last year, free throw shooting better be this next season's. 2 lost championships because of missed freebies.

So for the love of WSU sports move your ass to Missoula already!

i never realized hawks is the bad luck guy. i am not superstitious but i am a little stitious i do admit.

my fresh yr til yr after i graduated we won 2 big sky titles in 5 yrs, hosted twice and went to the dance both times. then hawks enrolls....

Don't lose hope hawks. I would much rather a competitive team year in and year out then be some of the other programs in the Big Sky. This team isn't getting any worse, and they will break through soon.

It's amazing to think that this team lost 7 games by a total of 34 points. This really was a special team, and even though we didn't win a championship, I sure had a good time watching them.

Thank you coaches and players for an unforgettable year, and thanks to Mook and Bam for all they brought to the program!

Remember all the question marks at the beginning of this season, and look how it finished out. That is the great thing about true fans, you live and breathe with your team REGARDLESS of how they do, because you support the efforts they are putting forth.

I LOVE WEBER STATE BASKETBALL!! WEBER, at least, was in the championship games. How many DI programs can say that?

Heyoh, it was an amazing crowd last night. If anything, that was a HUGE reward for our players efforts this season. They earned that crowd and have earned the right to have 6K+ season tkt holders for next season.

Can't argue with that.

I'm so, SO happy I didn't have to add to this gallery tonight. Congrats on destroying my playoff/championship curse, Randy!

The dinosaurs had become extinct when I became a Weber State fan, but it seems like it could be that long ago. I have seen the glorious reign of Willie Sojourner, Brady Small, Sessions Harlan and countless others along with some more glory years during the McCarthy era, and sports director at KWCR during the infamous Larry Farmer era. Through bad times, frustrations (back to back BSC tourney losses to Montana State & Montana (in the DEE) and the surprising BSC title run randy Rahe's first year and the two major NCAA upsets over Michigan State & North Carolina, I've always bled purple and always will and will always be proud to be a Wildcat.

Watching this season from the desert in the middle east this year has been interesting and put things in a different perspective being away from the emotion and the hoopla I was drawn into the past few seasons living in Ogden.

First, The growing pains and the inconsistencies from the young players tested the faith on even the most faithful of fans. But, having gone through this and not had an easy ride this year will prepare our strong young core much better for the greatness for which they have the potential. Yes, it may have stressed your hearts a little bit this year, but the stresses of this season will better prepare our guys for the future.

I'm looking forward to watching Weber State basketball from afar again next year. When WSU beat Michigan State in the NCAA tournament, I was working at Circuit City in Salem, OR. The game came on during my shift , but we were slow so I could watch it on the big screen TV. As I watched the game, everyone that was working came over to watch it with me. Then customers came over and began watching the game. By the end of the game there was a group of about 15-20 workers and customers watching the game. Before it was over, every single person watching the game began cheering for Weber State. It was fun. . . . . When we played North Carolina I was in Korea and played hoops with some American teachers at the international school in Daejeon. I got everyone cheering fro Weber State except for Eric and his buddy who graduated from North Carolina. Even Eric, although he did not become a Wildcat fan, really respected us and gave a heartfelt congratulations on our win. :-D

Nice to hear from you, kcoolhand. Don't burn your toes in that hot desert sand. :-D

As you know, your path and mine have been very nearly the same. I agree with you 100%. This years struggles and triumphs will lead to future greatness.

That championship game, the crowd, the atmosphere, it was all reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. I couldn't be more proud to be even a small part of this thing. The best part of all of this, is that we are starting to build a fire within the student body. If the trend continues, it can become a raging inferno.

I'm enjoying the moment and I'm excited for the future.

GO WILDCATS!!!

WEBER STATE; WEBER STATE; GREAT; GREAT; GREAT;
