Sirens named to Western Conference All Star Team!!!

Congratulations to fullback Jennie Ann Quan, wingback Ashlee Sharp, and linebackers Michelle Machado and Robyn Taylor for making the 2009 IWFL Western Conference All Star Team! The All Star Game will be played championship weekend at the end of July.

Quan and Sharp ate up HUGE amounts of ground in propelling the Sirens to their 5-3 record this year. Machado and Taylor were a huge part in our defensive performance.

However, I think the voters were remiss in leaving off Amy Williams, who was a true ironwoman this year. Literally NOBODY threw her way at her strong safety position, and she was an effective ground gainer at the other wingback position. After what had to be a league record 40-yard field goal the last week of the season, it's a huge blunder not to have kicker Jennifer Bloom on the squad, either.
