Smith calling it quits

Reading what Kadezy posted about smith I hear the rumor is true, I heard hes been beat up for the last three years but the major decision was its best for his health to stop playing, I heard he has bad back problems and the doctors found a cyst in his brain before the UNLV game which may have lead to his calling it quits. Remeber the guy has never played a full season in 3 years, he missed 3 games last year with an ankle injury and some kind of hurnia surgery mid-season, if anyone knows if this is true please let us know.

Don't know if it's true (the physical ailment part), but if it is, I hope he recovers.

HHD, thanks for the info! That's actually more than I was expecting you to be able to say! Sounds like Bryan Hilliard and Sam McCowarn could have a pretty formidable line to run behind next year. With MBT gun slinging and Reed/Hendershott/Lane/Deadder snatching balls out of the air, this could get exciting!

We all know MBT probably won't be the starter, even though myself and others think he should be. I just don't know how Smith gets the start over MBT!

Got news for you. Smith is retiring from football. I've heard he is done. Was not released from the team or disciplined in any way, but is choosing to retire. As some of you may know he has some physical ailments that just aren't allowing him to play at the level required any more.

So MBT has the lead, but I hear there Pete Murdaca from Delta JC has committed and we will have at least 2 other freshman QBs, so there will be plenty of competition for MBT and Carmazzi. Good competition at the position will raise the level of play there and we need that badly.

FYI

What is wrong with me? I know we've talked about the MBT-Smith controversy for two years now, but why is it whenever I hear the name of Smith in a Sac context, I immediately think of the baseball coach?

Ugh!

Ugh!

Not me. I always think of Jason. I am proud his job at QB, and I know he gave 110%. I am sorry to hear about the injuries. It takes a real man to know his limitations.

Good job Jason. Thank you for the commitment and dedication. Come by the Beer Buzz'n Brigade tailgate anytime for a beer.

Go Hornet Football!
