So, What's Next for Katz?

Obviously he needs to evaluate our current talent. The only player we CAN'T afford to lose in Vinnie McGhee and I think he realizes that. I would be sad to see Loren Leath go (I doubt he would before his Senior year), but if it makes the team better, so be it.

He's going to have to go into recruiting overdrive. Anyone know if that 6'11 kid on the Delta roster is any good? I'd like to see him sweep up at least 2 local H.S. players (if for nothing else an attendance boost) and see him use is JC connections to pick up a couple Sophs.

He has to pick his assistant coaches and delegate authority. Hopefully he'll have an open mind in selecting good recruiters who know a variety of areas. I think there's going to be a rough learning curve for him when it comes to budgets, travel, scheduling, etc. But, I'm hoping he can do it and put a BSC title contending team on the floor within 2-3 years.

I think Brian will hit the floor running. He has a good budget and now if he can recruit to the gym we will be golden. I am sure he will bring in his own assistants, wouldn't you?

Has anyone seen Delta play this year? If so, was there anyone on the team that would be a solid player for the Hornets? With the signing date so close I'm not sure what Katz is going to be able to pull off.

This is where things are going to get sticky. I know he MAY have a couple of scholarships in hand but the academic troubles he's inheriting are going to limit his ability to recruit just anybody. I don't know the details but I do hear he is going to be hamstrung. Anybody know more?
