Jacks at Portland State this coming Friday in the second semifinal game @ 5 pm. Win and they're still alive for the championship on Sunday vs. ISU/EWU.

I made it to my first women's soccer matches in 4 years on homecoming weekend and had a blast. It'd be fun to be in Portland this Friday.

Go Jacks!

Live soccer is alot of fun. I was a regular at lumberjack stadium during my time at NAU. The atmosphere is really fun specially when you're enjoying the game with friends. Hope the ladies return to the NCAA tournament like last year. All 4 teams in the tournament are really evenly matched. It will be fun to see which out of the 4 wins it. PSU has the slight advantage because they're at home, but NAU handed them their only conferance loss this year, so it should be a great match up there in Portland.

Good luck Lady Jacks...

Northern Arizona Soccer is the 2009 Big Sky Champions!!!!!!

Congrats to the ladies on being crowned the champions for the second year in a row. They will now advance to the NCAA tournament and represent the Big Sky.

Go JACKS!!!! :P

Tough "reward" to swallow from the NCAA folks who seeded NAU with an undefeated and top ranked Stanford squad on their home pitch.

Then again, the game still has to be played and you never know what can happen when it's a one-and-done playoff setting. Crazier things have happened in sports.

But at least they play out west and will hopefully have a few fans/family members in attendance rooting on the Jacks. This is one of the few times I wish I still lived in the Bay Area.

I'll be following on the internet Thursday night.

Stanford's website has a few links for live coverage.....

Another fantastic season for Lumberjacks footy.

I followed last years NCAA soccer match on the internet and from what I heard, it sounded like the Jacks were overmatched from the start by Portland. Not the case yesterday in Palo Alto. I watched yesterdays match on the internet and, while Stanford was unquestionably filled with overwhelming talent, the Jacks didn't flinch. Holding the top-ranked and undefeated womens team in NCAA Division I soccer scoreless for 50+ minutes is nothing to dismiss.

Congratulations on a great season.

Agree mtjack,

It looks like the soccer program has grown over the past year. They not only competed with the number 1 ranked team in the nation, but they gave them all they wanted. I seriously expected us to go down by more than 5 goals, but was pleasantly surprised by how competative NAU was. The great thing about this team is that they''re only losing one player next year. 10 of the 11 starters are back, so let's expect more great things from NAU soccer. Hopefully coach Luciano hangs around Flagstaff for a while and doesn't get taken away from us by another bigger school with more money than NAU, because you know the offers will come.

Great job ladies and keep up the good work. You're representing NAU very well!!!

Go Jacks
