The University of South Dakota, known as the Coyotes (locals pronounce it with only two syllables--KUY oats) located in Vermillion, a city of about 11000 people on the banks of the Missouri River in SE South Dakota. It is about an hour's drive from Sioux Falls and about 2 hours drive from Omaha. They currently play in the Missouri Valley Conference in football.

Game has been cancelled. Many Vik players seem to have come down with whooping cough.
PSU football game canceled due to whooping cough case in Vikings locker room
The Vikings had been scheduled to play the University of South Dakota Coyotes on Saturday before the case was announced.

The articles I’m seeing indicate one case, and it is hinted that no players were involved, or at least are not sick at this time. Mind you, this has a long incubation period and it’s hard to know who’s contagious.
Kind of sounds familiar, really.
This caused quite the discussion on the Boise State board. This week was a bye week and PSU is supposed to visit Albertsons Stadium next week.
So… shrug.
