Southern Utah/NAU

Trouble getting to Flag-Town, so the NAU game was moved to Monday. I don't think we'll have any trouble getting to Whoville (aka Cedar City) by Saturday. Both the T-Birds and the Jacks are near the bottom of the standings so a sweep would be great, but it is difficult to win in the conference on the road. Maybe a split is the best we can hope for. Gotta get the first one, though. :thumb:

NAU has three guys that are supposed to be out due to injury as well. Neely, Kaluna, and Rivera-Vega I believe.

The Lumberjacks are down 3 starters to injury (Neely....senior transfer point guard who is yet to play a Big Sky league game due to ongoing injury problems; Kaluna....their best post presence; Torry Johnson ....a starter last year who tore up a knee in the offseason), one incoming freshman reserve (Robinson) to injury and one player (Rivera-Vega) to unspecified issues.

It's been a rough year.

NAU-PSU game on Monday is televised on Fox Sports Arizona and Fox Sports Pacific.

That shouldn't affect it being shown on Eversport, should it? I kind of like this watching on my computer thing. :thumb:

41-41 at the half from Whoville. Who said SUU couldn't shoot threes? Viks need to make some adjustments. We can win this, but it won't be easy. T-Birds shooting lights out.

Big win in Whoville! Portland State 88 Southern Utah 77

I think it is safe to say the Vikings are not a good free throw shooter team. Could be the team's downfall if they don't improve in this area quickly!

The split is guaranteed. Now its time for the sweep. :thumb:

7000 ft did not bother Sac State today, but we can't look past NAU.

I had a conflict and didn't get to watch the stream, but I was very happy to see the score pop across my phone. Great win.

One could probably complain that we left 15 points at the free throw line, but heck, a road win is a road win in the Big Sky and I'll take it. Good looking night on the effort stats of boards and steals.

Great defensive effort on Little Peanut last night (Onwuasor 6-21, that's Patrick's little brother).

That may be what I'll need to do Monday. Blazers play at 11, Viks play at 3 and I've got a mound of work to do at the office because of the weather. :ohno:

I may give less than 100% at work in the afternoon tomorrow. :-)

Let's get that road sweep!

Are we really going to lose to one of the worst 3-4 teams in the entire nation, even when they're missing 60% of their starters?

I mean, that's gotta be the most humiliating thing I've ever heard. Would be a black mark.

Well, tied at the half.

We need to clean up our play on the boards in the second half. Getting killed 25-12 in the first half. I'd love to see Rumel end up with 8-10 boards and 20 minutes, oh and another dunk would be great!

NAU's coach Jack Murphy seems like a real gem. I remember him being a bit of a hot head when they come to Portland, but going all Gregg Popovich on that young guy from Fox Sports that was trying to get a short interview at the half seemed pretty douchey.

Cowards. Not a drop of courage from this squad. On the road vs the worst team in the nation is too much to handle? Even when that team is depleted? Wow.

Wow. There have to be changes. You can not lose to 40% of the worst team in the nation and just keep on with the status quo. Wow. Just wow.

Do these kids even practice? I"m serious, have you ever seen these kids actually practice their craft? I've seen most high school teams play better.

So you have the worst team in the nation. That might be bad enough to lose to.

But you have 40% of the worst team in the nation.

So this is basically like losing to a blind women's D3 team.

You gotta close the program. This is humiliating.
