... have no idea what a chop block is. Their conference needs to thoroughly review that officiating crew, because they threw 3 flags for chop blocks and reviews showed not a single one was actually a chop.
If you play a guy head-up and take his legs away, that's just a good cut block... clean, legit, and exactly as coached. A chop block needs to be from behind or low to the legs when a defender is engaged.
It didn't matter in the whole scheme of things, as our offense still did their part and it was the other side of the ball that was a disaster... but you still expect refs at a DI level to know what the hell is a penalty and what is not.
