Spanos' $10M Gift?

Interesting article in Capitol Weekly speculates that a large portion of Spanos' $10M gift has gone "un-donated"...

Interesting...with all the facilities now built, I wonder if the rest of the funds still awaiting to be donated will be used to help build the new arena/events center.

The school won't talk about it, but I think that's a good point SHA. Maybe there's parts of the agreement we don't know about (i.e. Spanos will donate as projects get underway, or other stipulations...)
 
Sac State shouldn’t expect it any time soon. Spanos is too busy trying to dupe the SD voters into funding a new downtown Chargers stadium at the taxpayers expense. It will/has been a lengthy and costly battle. When that falls through, he will then be busy trying to work out a deal with the owners of the newly proposed and LA City Council approved downtown LA stadium. The last of his concerns will be a $10M unpaid donation to Sac State. :twocents:
 
Based on the post headline, I thought Spanos had donated another $10M.

Does this jeapordize the naming rights?

Wonder if he gave Cal Poly the $8M he pledged for their new stadium?

Why Wish Complex you ask? Because we wish we had the money he said he would donate. :lol:
 
SD, we're going to need you go to knock on Spanos' door and collect what is owed. Don't break more than one of his knee caps though.

If Spanos doesnt cough up the dough, I say change the name.

A man is only as good as his word. If he says he's going to do something, he'd better do it, especially considering all the positive publicity that followed the announcement of the "gift."

Open up bidding for naming rights, let the highest bidder name the complex.
 
Yeah, throw out that hidden $25M theory. Sounds like Mr. Spanos is a chump.

I say if he doesnt pony up by 2013 take down his name and replace it with Goodwill Industries.
