Spring Ball

Spring ball starts in about 10 days. I think that it is the 19th or close to that. I was told, but can't remember.

Your thinking about spring football, today of all days. Focus SWeberCat02, focus.
I've been focusing on everything but work.
I hear you there, but honestly is there ever a bad time to think about WSU football?? I say NO!

Pro day at the U of U was on Monday and the pro day for Weber was yesterday. Here is to a number of players getting invites to training camp or being drafted!! :D

So now can we talk football without getting harassed by our basketball brethren? When does spring ball start, and who else can't wait for football besides me?

I'm with you, aj. Let's talk about the greatest game on earth. What will Mac be looking for this spring? A running back, of course. But what else?

Maybe so, but as I posted over on e-griz a few moments ago on aj's thread, our performance in 2010 depends alot more on the big guys' performances in the trenches.

I agree that the line is as important as anything. But I mention the running back because not one running back on the team has any career carries. That's a bit scary to me. But back to the line, how do you see the line looking next year?

I am starving for any info on how the football team is doing. Who has worked hard and will have a break out year? Come on SMJ we all know you have connections on the team, please give us some info. I have heard rumors of different "wildcat" formations being put in but who really knows.

I hear the big guy from Bakersfield is in school and looks real good. I also hear that Kevin Hafield has been moved to tackle for his senior year and looks very good for playing a new position. It sounds like Titan Timoteo and Orem are going to be the anchors inside. Both are very strong and very quick and with mean streaks, which is a must. If Cameron Molifua does not get his 6th year, Titan will be the center. At running back, Booker and Tafuna are looking very, very good. There is a new tight end on campus who is excellent, NFL type who is going to really make up for the loss of Naks... And we still got Fransisco that came up big a few times last year. Most importantly I hear the pre-contact chemistry is out a sight. The best its ever been. Obviously my contact is on the offense and he feels they look as good or better in all phases than the last two years, especially at O-line. I think the fullbacks are decent, but I also think that the ghost of Marcus Mailei is gone and they just wont use a fullback all that much come fall.

Oh yeah. Joe Collins did get his year back and will be returning. he runs very crisp routes and has a good mind for coverages. He and Higgins are very much in sinc right now. It sounds as though he will be that possession receiver in the fall, but as we all have seen Collins does drop, but he can clean that up, I'm sure. I'm damn excited.

Great updates whereamI. Thanks for the info. I can't wait until next year. The douches over at the UM site think Weber lost too much and won't be any good this year. Call me crazy, but I really feel better about this team than I did about last year's. The pressure will be gone and a new experienced O coordinator will help tons. :D

Yup. I agree. Granted, I always get the best case scenario updates but they are still pretty accurate. If anybody plans on attending spring drills/game. Pictures, video, summaries would be awesome.

Any word on if WSU will have a kicking game at all? Or much of a defense? Or running back? Maybe those Montana fans were right, maybe WSU has lost too much talent to do anything and will just fall back to being same ol Weber.

I think the D will be decent I hear the DBs are looking very good and we go alot of returning d-linemen. The questions is DE and LB.

MARK MY WORDS... The running game will be as good or better than 2008. Tafuna and Booker are legit, work very hard. It really depends on how and when they use their FBs. Like I said Mailei was a very special player and his departure was a huge reason Smith did not have a great year + the fact that they were caught in a run-run-pass mentality with an inexperienced o-line. U do bring a good point up about the kicking game. The loss of Snoy will be huge.

I plan on getting tons of spring practice pics. I think we should start Pimpin' Da Purple now. Get a head start on publicity for this fall. Brainstorm ideas everyone. Don't depend on Mktg to get it done(based on results).
