Spring Football 2016

When does it start? Has a date been set yet?

I don't believe that it has been announced yet. When the 2016 schedule came out it said that the spring practice and game details would be announced sometime in February.

I guess I spoke too soon. ;)

Bumping this in case anyone is going to watch Spring practices. I'd like to hear any news or observations.

No Saturday practices until the spring game makes it difficult for me to get there, too. I'd like to know as well, what's going on and such.

Add me to the list of someone who would like to hear how the practices are going, but most likely won"t be able to attend myself. I will try to attend the Spring game and can't wait to see what Barney Ball 2.0 has in store for us this upcoming season!

caught a little of the "game" yesterday.

Tago seems to be in good form.
Defensive line seemed to be ahead of offensive line.
Center needs to improve snaps especially the 2
Hamilton is a big QB, needs to improve passing
Cavanaugh is going to get some time in the fall.
Steven Long didn't play (that I saw), but wasn't listed as injured.

Thoughts?

Another player missing from the spring game isn't on campus yet - Davis Alexander, freshman QB from Gig Harbor. No one is talking about him yet, but he'll take some snaps in fall camp. It will be interesting to see how he pans out.

My thoughts are pretty much the same as yours.

I was impressed with the defensive line. Yeah, it's easy to get a sack in spring play, but they for the most part outplayed the offensive line yesterday. 2nd string snaps were really low. Need to work on that. Kuresa looked efficient and hit some precision short passes.

Overall I liked what I saw. The offensive line should come together and I like what I saw in Martin from the backfield, who should contend for some snaps in the fall.

I like what the PSU AD did with the spring game. Bringing in seats on the north side and the tents on the east side. It's a small space, but it gave the look that a lot of people showed up. 1k, not too bad for us.

Very sad that the team had to end the spring with a trip to Eugene today to honor their teammate. RIP Kyle Smith, RIP.

I overheard one of the players that will be in camp in the fall talking to his dad and some other people about the turnout. He was very excited to see so many people there. It did have the feel that there were more people than there actually were. It's fun to see the practice close up.
