Spring Practice

How did the first practice go fo ISU?

All I could find out about first practice was based on about 15 minutes worth of post practice interviews from starting qb tanner Gueller and linebacker Joel Martin and coach phenice is that there was a great amount of team enthusiasm and the defense came away with 3 turnovers during a team session which it sounds like the team is trying to put a premium on defensive takeaways this season. Coach made it sound like everything was real base today but Joel martin said there is intense competition going on in all they are doing. Sounds like WR Scooobie Reynolds and one other guy (I couldn't hear the name cuz it was so windy in the interview) didn't practice due to injury and DE Rasheed Willians and OL Skyler Phillips did practice after season ending injuries last year

Here's some pictures I found of yesterdays spring practice from Doug Lindley on the ISJ Website - http://idahostatejournal.com/news/idaho-state-university-first-spring-practice/collection_e1b90a12-1b35-11e7-8a84-bbdd583f0641.html

Yeah I agree they are fun to look at to familiarize everyone. ISU athletics and ISU Twitter and has been doing a great job of little videos and pics also

I am surprised there is so little here on this forum about Spring football practice. I have heard there is very little interest in football at ISU. Kind of sad. I guess that's what happens when a program has a loosing season for as long as ISU has had.

Reborn2010 = There is a scrimmage this upcoming Saturday, maybe there will be some info shared here on the message board after the scrimmage. But maybe not. actually on 2nd thought there most likely will not be much info exchanged here on message board. I would suggest if anybody is looking for information on ISU football there best bet is to get on twitter and follow ISU Athletics, Madison Guernsey, Jeff Papworth, Julia Cox, Bengals Rising etc etc on twitter. They all do a GREAT job of giving videos and photos and some articles and interviews on twitter. Steve Schaak does a great job also of writing good articles on the ISU Official Football Team web site and some videos as well. I would suggest following those sites more so than this message board if you are looking for ISU football info. I will give you the links to those sites if you need them.

Great advice, that's where I get most of my info from. There are many BigSky football forums that have little to no activity regardless of season. NAU had a good season last year, but their board was always quiet.

Spring is exciting for some of us and some will wait for Fall as that's when the real competition is going down fighting for a depth spot and Freshmen coming on board. Right now it's all about getting the team, coaches and mindset in the right place and begin to build from there for the season. Mostly drills and a little 1v1.

That's a great summary on all points tacoma5. lol yeah I've also noticed that some of the other big sky message boards make ours look like Saturday night social hour. Portland state messag board is incredibly dead at most times. Eastern Washington message board is always real active and Montana and Montana state seem to be very lively also
