As of right now, I have found two JC players that Weber is looking at.

Travis Betran 6-3 Wing: Kilgore College. He went to Christian Covenant Academcy and is from Harlem NY. Currently he is averaging 18 ppg.

18.7 Ppg, 1.7 Rpg, 2.0 Apg, 51% from 3pt land, 1.0 Spg, .1 Bpg. 54% FG 74% FT

Nathan Sobey 6-3 Combo Guard/Wing: Cochise Community College in AZ. He is from the land down under.

18.5 Ppg, 6.7 Rpg, 2.5 Apg, 34% from 3pt land, 2.0 Spg, .5 Bpg. 52% FG 70% FT

I'm looking for a 6'8" - 9" forward who can rebound. We will need a new Mahoney next year. While Fulton had 13 rebounds last night (and Lillard 6) it was Mahoney who was fighting the physical battles to screen out and push out the Bobcat bigs off the boards. We need another big forward from the JC ranks.

The coaches feel that Bolomboy 6-8 or Hill 6-7 will be able to come in right away, as Fresh, and produce. Berry is taking Bull's place but he is only 6-4. He plays a lot bigger though. The JC is coming in to take Shai's vacant spot.

We may need two more recruits as there is a good chance Lillard will be moving on after this year. We seem somewhat set still at the guard spot with Bamforth and Richardson and Wheelwright. And we have a pretty good set of bigs returning in Tresnak, Hajek and Fulton. And if Berry can play the 3 another 2-3 player would be helpful.

Who ever we bring in to fill Shai's spot will likely sit out as a red shirt, unless they could beat out one of the starters. That is not the most likely thing, so I think it will either be a D1 transfer or a JC with bagage. Bagage like needing another year to get his grades in line. We would bring in a freshman if there was still one availavble to meet our standards.

If Dame leaves, I'm not sure that you try to run out and fill the spot. We have enough quality guards in the program that we can be quite picky. We might keep that spot open for another 2013 recruit. :coffee:

Lawrence Otis... the little brother of Mook.

I hear what you are saying Old...Rahe has a handful of options. He did say at the last luncheon, and of course things change quickly, that they were looking at adding one this spring. Someone who can play right away, but, as you have observed, Weber will be fine without someone playing immediately. I wouldn't doubt if Weber adds another transfer. ;-)

Sweet!! Does he have a legitimate shot?

Any news? Did anyone go to the luncheon today? I'm guessing 2 this spring. A JC and a high schooler. I'm putting money on Steady joining the team.

Nice article on Mook's little brother. He was being courted by USU and Bone's Cougars of Washington State. Neither were that interested, I guess. He never signed with anyone last fall.

I heard that the students were taking pictures of the section for a Nathan last night at the game. I hope it is for Nathan Sobey. He looks like a hell of a solid player. Would be a great wing addition for the Cats.

Jalen Washington 6-5 175...Kilgore. He can play the 1, 2, or 3. fairly diverse player, with a lot of skills. http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/X0jWCO1SNUa9LF0TXD5bFw/basketball-winter-10-11/stats-jalen-washington.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Was Jalen the kid at the game last night?

I'm not sure.

I do know that Nathan Sobey is being courted quite closely by the coaching staff.

The kid I saw at the games over the weekend was about 6'5'' and quite slender. He was with his mother, so I asumed he must be on a visit. He didn't look old enough to be a JC kid. He didn't look tall enough to be the 6'9'' player that has been mentioned.

That looks like the young man I saw. Now, if you had a picture of his mom, we might have a confirmation. :-D
