St. Katherines

:? 2-8, having played only one D1 team so far (UVU). This should be one of the uglier games the DEC has seen, but will it be?

87-43

Carl Arky says Joel tweaked his ankle and that since it is sore, coaches will keep him on the bench for tonight.

Two observations on the B@TV webcast:
1: can we can the music that blasts during time outs- is that a pickup of the music in the arena or a cover for when the ads are on the radio? it's way too loud.
2: See there is a score showing in the upper left hand corner- it is totally unreadable. Back to the drawing board on that....

Nice the see the Wildcats ahead....!!

Halftime Wildcats 43, Firebirds 15. Only surprising stat of the first half is our terrible 3 pt shooting, everything is in and out.

Its hard to really look at this game as more than a practice. Im sure weber high would have put up better numbers but a win is a win.
Who ever said if Fuller earns his spot then he should play, I would have to agree. I wasnt sold with throwing him into the mix tonight because our team chemistry is pretty terrible and we need all the work we can get but to me he played very well. Earned a double double on very few shots and made his foul shots! Granted this isnt the best test of skill but he has some eye brows raised.

I am not sure what to think about last night. I kind of hoped we could have sent our women's team out after halftime to see how they faired against them in the second half.

Bolomboy hasn't entered the game, what's going on? WSU putting a hurt on the firebirds, up 29-7
Official word is that he hurt is ankle, but word on the street suggests he may be in Randy Rahe's doghouse for an undisclosed reason.

Agreed. I'm not entirely sure what the team takes from this other than a confidence builder. At one point, I really started to feel bad, though. To St. Katherine College's credit, they are a first-year NAIA team, that is going to have a hard time beating anyone in their own league this season.

He's soft and needs to get a lot tougher. It is for his benefit and the teams. I think he has allowed everyone telling him how great he is to go to his head and his isn't working as hard. Can't do that. You have to keep working hard and growing. Look at Dame. That guy never settles and just continues to push himself. Right when you think you are great, you start getting worse. Bolomboy, from what I can see, needed to get sat to show him, there are a lot of good players on our team who can take his mins at anytime.

Bolomboy is a solid player, but has been acting like a great player when he really isn't. He has a loooooonnnnggg way to go. Good thing for him is that he comes from a good family and is a fairly mellow kid. He will be fine and this is good for him. He is a teachable player and he needs to keep himself teachable.

On Monday, at the luncheon, Coach was smoking mad!! He wouldn't name names, but we all kinda figured it out. He absolutely loves Bolomboy and wants the best for him, but the best for him has to be the best for the team as well, which it will be.
