Mod's feel free to move this to where you see fit, but I for one am sick of the piss poor coverage the "Hometown" paper gives WSU. I'm not just talking about better game coverage, but I also would like to see stories on individual players, and stories on all the great things WSU athletes do in this community. Just recently the mens basketball team donated their time and ran a basketball camp/scrimmage with the nice people of the Special Olympics, why in the "F" was that not in the Standard, also, every year WSU athletes participate in the Habitat for Humanity program yet that has NEVER been mentioned in the paper. These kids do great things in the classroom, on the field, and IN THE COMMUNITY. Come on Standard let the people know about all the positive things that these kids do.

This is the story of the mens basketball team that should be in the Standard that OGF was referring to:

Some of this is the Standard's fault, but some of the blame has to go to B-rad Lars the current SID. Did he contact the standard and tell them to get a reporter to the Special Olympics practice/scrimmage. Did he tell the standard that the players are going to participate in a Habitat for Humanities project. We are always the last school in the conference to announce schedules. Is that because the SID is not doing the job they were hired for?? I can't say for certain, but makes you wonder.................. :?

Do I need the services of the OGF????
After your comments about B-rad and Becky in the past, you definitely need to hire some protection. I will send you a PM with details regarding price and etc.....

The Standard is the best thing we have. Ill comments about the Standard shows you do not understand how things work. The Standard prints what WSU gives them. It is not the Standard's job to twist the arm's of those it deals with to get the details. When the media has great difficulty in its dealings with WSU you can't blame outlets such as the Standard for its end results.

Asay did a great job and Burton is doing good work already.

Most of us realize that, hence my comment about the SID. :ugeek:

Gotta say that Weber is their worst enemy. They consistently piss down their legs whenever they have an opportunity.

The coverage of Weber State football in this Sundays paper was awful!! Weber State wins 20-9 and Jim Burton has nothing good to say other than they had better get their act together. We had a bad game against Sac State. We had a bad first half against UC Davis. We posted a W not an L. I understand and loved the commentary about the Big Sky Conference. The hometown paper should be nothing but encouraging to our Wildcats. I know this shows bias but sports commentary is full of bias. We need to pump up the community to back our team. Is this to much to ask from a local paper? Stats were posted for all of the other Utah Universities. I wanted to read our stats but I guess it was to much trouble for them to be posted in the local paper. If they had two reporters on site we should have stats. The comments about "witness protection program" and "usual suspects" was ridiculous. This is not a mystery novel. Give us coverage of the game!
