STATE

Lead by Tyler Hall the Bobs are coming to town. Weber has to win this game if they want to lock up a first round bye. However, these two teams are headed in different directions. Montana State has won the last 5 and Weber is 2-6, losing 4 straight, over their last 8. No matter, this is a big game. Last home game of the season, longtime conference rival Montana State, and senior night. Let's go Weber!! Get this one!!

Cats took care of business tonight in a similar manner that they were playing in mid-season! Good move by Rahe to start Harding in place of John. He was the difference on offense. Something John cannot do... On defense Richardson was excellent in shutting down Hall. His defense really bothered Hall. Also nice to see another sub (Baker) play well. Those two subs (Harding & Baker) was the difference tonight in winning and losing. Hill isn't much of an offensive threat but man can he rebound and block shots. When he sets his mind to it, he is the best rebounder in the conference. He brought it tonight... Now I think we have to play MSU again in the first game of the tournament. Ugh... hard to beat's three times in a row.

Also, I would like to point out that Cannon came in and played well at the point. He made some great passes. Did you all notice the offense/defense subbing going on at the end, when we needed to defend Hall on one end and take good care of the ball on our offensive possessions. It worked well and was a nice bit of coaching going on. :thumb: :thumb:

Cannon was good on defense, and made some crucial stops down the stretch. However, his shooting, as usual, was atrocious, missing wide-open look after wide-open look.

That is super frustrating, but at least he is only taking good shots.

What frustrates me are the stupid turnovers from our guard play. Cannon does not turn the ball over. If he could start hitting those shots, he would start. Untill he does, we will have point guard by committee.

I only remember Cannon taking 2 shots and it seems like they were good shots, shots he can make. What impressed me was his ball handling and passing. I also thought he came into the game with a bounce in his step that we haven't seen for a while. :coffee:

Hawks what are you talking about? How can you miss over and over again when you only take 2 shots? He missed one open shot on the wing that was in and out, and then missed a very difficult and highly contested shot at the rim.

Great, team win last night. A lot of open looks that didn't drop but our guys fought through the misses and dominated on the boards. Our defense was a lot better and the player rotation was excellent. After one of his worst coaching displays, Rahe coached expertly last night. Weber's most likely gonna get the bobs again on Thursday. Hard to get three wins and two back to back. Definitely interested in watching the SUU vs. State game.

It will be interesting how Rahe works the PG rotation in the tournament. Cannon has really played well lately and has taken some minutes from John. I'm sure a lot of the rotation will depend on defensive matchups. I'm guessing Rahe sticks with Harding starting? Hard to bench him after his game last night. Thought Baker played great as well. That charge he took in the 1st half was a great play and helped us gain some extra energy. The road to winning the tournament will most likely be Montana St-- Eastern Washington-- ND. We will need a little luck and hot shooting to win the tournament. But I definitely think we have a shot.
