Status of Incoming Freshmen

I see the new roster is posted on GoEags.com and includes incoming freshmen. Does anyone know the status of Cody Hecker, the local kid from Sandpoint? Also, Zach Chapman from Vancouver and Isaiah Jenkins from West Seattle aren't listed either. Qualifying problems or just overlooked, since most of these guy will redshirt anyway...

Good to see Devin Topps is on the roster. He had some qualifying issues but it looks like he must have worked them out.

Also, Ashton Boothroyd is on the roster but wasn't listed as one of the February freshmen signees. Was he a late sign or is he considered a "preferred walk-on", allowing him to practice early instead of waiting for school to start (same as Cory Mitchell maybe?)?

I don't know if Cory Mitchell is a 'preferred walk-on, but he is definetly planning on making the team. He prefers slot but the coach's have him playing CB, which he has never done in his life.

Hecker, Chapman, and Jenkins are all non-qualifiers and will have to sit this coming year. TJ Lee (2009 non-qualifier) is not listed as well and last I heard is that he had to pass summer school to be eligible. Go Eagles!!!

Just heard that Topps had NCAA Clearinghouse issues and will have to wait to report until the beginning of school September 22. That sucks if it holds true...

That sucks about Topps but he is probably going to redshirt anyway do to the depth at Linebacker. Go Eagles!!!

Just talked to one of the players who just talked to Topps. Apparently, he got his last "problem" squared away with the clearinghouse and will be on reporting on campus this Saturday. That's good news...
