Strings earns BSC POTW. Well deserved, it was only a matter of time. :notworthy:
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento State sophomore forward Justin Strings was named the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office today.

Let me see if I got this right...4 weeks into the season Sac St has already had 2 BSC players of the week and both of those players are true sophomores, and neither had ever started a game before...I'd have to say we have a pretty bright future...I have no doubt that before the season is over both Cody Demps and Nick Hornsby will join Marcus and Justin as BSC players of the week. When we start clicking with all our pieces, we will be real hard to stay with....Congratulations Justin!!!

Justin Strings has been the biggest surprise of the season for me - even considering the emergence of other players like Graves and to a lesser extent, Wu...

Last year Justin played in 25 games and made 8 of 13 shot attempts; he did not attempt a single 3pt. FG.

Through 8 games this season he's gone 42 of freaking 67, including 14 of 29 from 3pt. land.

Not to mention his stellar defense and rebounding...! What a revelation this kid has been.

I agree Kadeezy but I did get a look at him pre-season and I'm not quite as surprised. Justin is more than a basketball player though, he is also one of the All Academic BSC team members from last year. Justin is as nice a person as you would ever want to meet as well. We are very fortunate to be able to watch him play ball.
