i noticed the student section is moved to the backside of the goal near the opposing bench? why was this change made and when? I was surprised to see it. who got the old section? also, what officially are the sections for the students now?

It is turning out to be a good move. The handfull of students who sit in the new section are loud and into it. Their numbers seem to be growing. I think they are having a good time over there. The old student section is still there as well. They seem to be the quieter ones. I think it was done solely to improve the student experience at the games. I think it is working and will get better over time. They are getting a lot of the freebies and seem to get a pizza every game. I think they should give them even more. I'm loving it.

I think that they should add a student lounge in the tunnel. Invite them all down for drinks and eats at halftime. They could share halftime stats and have some of the players say hi on their way back to the floor. :coffee:

It finally seems like Athletics or someone on campus, has woken up and figured out that a well attended student section actually improves the arena atmosphere. Most importantly, these students are the future supporters. I'd do everything possible to grow what has been started and this time, don't stop like what happened with the PPAK in 2010.

As for where the students are at, seems like a good spot. Fill that one and then work on Section A, where the students have the other spot. Due to fees, they get 3 full sections. Don't give them the crappy area above the tunnel. That is just cruel.

This seems to be the one thing that Jerry has followed through with and is a very good change. Anyone remember the 5 year plan that he and coach Rahe had to reach the sweet 16? I think that was 6 or 7 years ago. You can't expect different results and do the same things. The best is when Jerry said we were following the Gonzaga model for mid major success. Then we release a horrific OOC schedule containing 3 non D1 programs.
