What was all that about how physical the MVC is?

Wow, I thought South Dakota State was decent enough as a finesse team, but they wouldn't match up physically with more than half of the Big Sky. They wanted to run the ball, we put up a brick wall, and they wanted to take their toys and go home. Zack Zenner couldn't have held Chatman or Taiwan's jock... he couldn't create plays when they weren't there like those guys could.

By the end of the game, it seemed like they just wanted to find the bus and go home. Had we played even halfway decent in the first half and not fumbled on our goal line, this one may have gotten ugly.

I was really surprised how much more "macho" our team was compared to the Rabbits. Again, they have some players doing some good things and aren't a bad ball club, but they sure aren't a physical ballclub.

Also, did anyone notice the punter before the fake? I was shouting fake the whole way, because if you watched him, he was obviously a Catholic and recited a prayer and made the cross across his chest before the play. He hadn't done that before. You knew something was up. I'm all for praying, but it makes a bad tell.

Hell, he couldn't hold Forte's jock. Quincey has been a beast all season, and would have some pretty nice numbers if we weren't a RB by committee team. Same with Super Mario. Both have averaged over 6 yards per this year. :notworthy:

Defense shut down the run game, just as planned. SDSU only ran for 88 yards.

Forte broke 200 yards. Wasn't Zenner supposed to be the one who broke 200 yards?

To me, the play that was basically the game was Cory Mitchell's TD. He fought off some handfighting from the CB, caught the ball, and then knocked the CB to the ground with one hand before walking into the endzone. That was sort of a synopsis of the whole game; Eastern was just a little too big, too physical, and too hardworking. It was a very impressive second half.
