It’s no secret that it’s been years since SUU games have been consistently well attended. And it’s no secret why: the last time the T-Birds finished with a winning record was the 2006-07 season. That was Bill Evans’ final season as the head coach. And SUU is on its third coach since Evans was let go. It’s hard to build a fan base with that type of track record.
And so it's understandable why many people haven't shown up for those eight home games (to be fair, the crowds have been much better than some from the previous few years). The T-Birds are hoping to change some minds with the $1 game promotion. Fans can check out what second-year head coach Todd Simon is building without much risk.
