No. 23 Southern Utah Thunderbirds (2-1) at UNLV Rebels (1-2), 9 p.m. (The Mountain)

Series record: UNLV leads, 3-0

Last meeting: at UNLV 28, Southern Utah 6 (Sept. 19, 1970)

What to know: UNLV coach Bobby Hauck if familiar with the FCS level, having coached at Montana for seven seasons, reaching three national championship games for the Grizzlies. Hauck has a 2-0 career mark against Southern Utah.

After more than 10 years, the Thunderbirds are back in The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25 after opening the season with a close loss to South Dakota State and a pair of impressive wins against Sacramento State and UTSA. Southern Utah was last ranked (24th) on Sept. 14, 1998.

Southern Utah quarterback Brad Sorenson has impressed the past two weeks, but much of that credit belongs to his offensive line that allowed four sacks in Week 1 and only one since.

Prediction: UNLV 31, Southern Utah 24

Good to see Bobby receive the spanking he so richly deserves. May he receive many, many more.

Go TBirds!

...until you come to Ogden.

I don't know if any body else caught the game on the Mtn. but UNLV quit mid way through the 3rd quarter, and the stands were empty midway through the 4th. UNLV had the bigger team, but SUU had the bigger heart. I'm getting more and more excited for our matchup right around the corner, Weber and SUU are both playing really solid right now. Congrats to you as well on the big win yesterday.

I am glad we are playing this game in O-town. This could be an epic game. Also congrat's to taking UNLV to the woodshed, what a beatdown. Keep winning... until you roll into town.

When I read this score on Sunday morning I didn't believe it. I totally thought the paper had it wrong. LOOOOOL. I can't believe that Bobby's team got beat so badly. Maybe UNLV should think about joining the Sky. Good for the TBirds to get this win. Hopefully, their fans will start attending and supporting their teams. SUU is a hell of a lot better than that Shiz hole in St. George. :blah:
