SUU

SUU, from what I understand, is without the services of its big. He hurt his shoulder a while back and has been out. That really hurts SUU and is a major difference maker.

I think Weber State wins by 8-10 points. If their injured player is a big difference maker, maybe Weber State wins by 15 or so. SUU always plays tough vs. Weber State, but I am hoping Wildcats put away the bad trend of terrible starts and gets motivated to win an instate game.

Morgan, their best big, is out for the season with a torn labrum. There starting PG is out, has his hand in cast And Adams, their 6-9 transfer from Arizona State, is just now getting healthy and playing his way back into the lineup. They were horrible defensively Thursday night and they are giving up almost 90 points a game in conference play. Weber should score at will.

Wildcats are cold as the inversion weather here. Three for 23 from the three line last game and 30 percent from the field in the first half vs SUU. Bad start yet again. Hopefully, they can get fired up for the second half.

Another collapse down the stretch that is typical with Rahe teams. Thank heavens the Wildcats don’t play Dixie State or Westminister at home this year. I am deadly serious about that.

We’ll get the same garbage postgame lines from Rahe: shots aren’t falling, we just have to battle through it, I liked our energy, etc.

It’s bad. Purple Palace has turned into the Pathetic Palace.

I can never understand why Rahe refuses to double down on good centers. Adams killed us, especially in the second half.

Lots of coaching and player errors for the Weebs. Not what you want to watch at this point in the season.

...not what you want to watch at any point in the season, especially from a veteran coach. I have not been able to get excited about this team and have found myself trying to convince myself I want to watch WSU bball. It's unbelievable I could feel this way after 40+ years of being obsessed with this program. I really don't know if it's more about how the game in general has changed or where Rahe has taken the program, but it is so unappealing right now. Watching them play vs SUU was much more disappointing that losing the game to a (supposedly) less talented, wounded SUU team. :ohno:
:puke:

Congrats Coach, after 400 games coached you're officially HC of the worst D1 program in the state. But no worries, Bovee will still give you another 400 games if that's what you want. And we all know no one else is hiring you away. Everyone else can see what Bovee can't.

In his pursuit for talent, Randy has forgotten that the players that fit him best are tough, blue-collar, kids. He needs basketball players and not finesse players. If you are going to play man to man defense for 40 mins, toughness matters. These kids just don't fit his coaching style. You can have all the talent in the world, but if the kid's fundamentals are limited it doesn't matter how fast the kid can run or jump. We know that the assistants aren't developing players effectively, especially in the middle. So you need kids who know the game and have "high basketball IQs." Also, why sign 13 kids if you are only going to play 8. With how fast the game is going, Randy needs to be playing 9 or 10 and not 8. By the end on Saturday, our bigs were totally gassed and getting beaten badly in the middle. Can't run them hard for 40 mins on offense and expect them to play man to man hard for 40 mins. Final thought...there is a reason why ISU beat SUU by 20: 1-3-1.

This is getting to me as well. I didn't listen to the postgame interview but I would imagine there was a quote about 4 games in 8 days. That schedule made going deeper into the bench even more important.

With the new offense I was excited to see us go 9 or 10 guys. But we're back to the 8-man rotation that I've often complained about.

Rahe has recruited some very good players and has to show faith in them to play. Instead, he sticks with certain guys who may or may not be as productive as others, given the chance. Dima Zdor is a big-time player, but Rahe plays Kupsas over him. Caleb Nero has been more productive than Doc and Israel, but he gets fewer minutes. I realize there is more to the story than we fans ever know, but the stats that we al see tell a pretty big story.

ISU is playing almost exclusively man-to-man. I think there were maybe two possessions where we played 1-3-1 vs. SUU on Thursday. Frankly, I would have liked to see us play more zone vs. NAU -- we were not quick enough to keep their guards out of the lane. NAU outscored us in the paint 32-18 -- and had ZERO second chance points. All of that came on penetration.

Admittedly I only watched 5mins of your game against SUU.
