Tawan Jones vs Matt Johnson

You're right. He's out with a hamstring injury but should be back soon. Too bad, would have been really badass to watch both of them on the field at the same time.

I'm hoping the fact that TJ hasn't been put in yet is a good sign; they don't want to risk him because they plan on using him a lot more in the regular season. They'd be stupid not, he showed glimpses of that home-run threat last year in the handful of touches he got.

TJ hurt his hamstring a couple weeks ago, probably won't see much of him in the preseason...hopefully he will win the #2 spot this year and get a lot more carries.

Yikes. He needs to stay healthy!

TJ's back at practice, and will play this week.

DET @ OAK coming up in half an hour. TJ should be getting some game time.

TJ with a 12 yard run to the outside on his first carry. 1 yard gain up the middle on the second. Another 12 yard gain on a toss sweep to the left on his third. :thumb:

The threat of TJ's speed has opened up their offense. Raiders driving.

Reviews on TJ last night were good from what I read.

10 carries for 50 yards
2 catches for 8 yards
34 return yards.

Sounds like he solidified himself as the #2 back and should see a lot more playing time this year.

Good for TJ

With just one preseason game remaining, Thursday night against the Seahawks, it appears Jones has the edge to win the No. 2 job.

Though he’s a small package – just 6-feet and 197 pounds – the fourth-round pick in 2011 out of Eastern Washington has tremendous speed and a year of limited experience.

Last season in 10 games, Jones carried just 16 times for 73 yards and caught two passes for 25 yards and didn’t fumble.

For Jones, just getting back on the field and feeling fit, fast and healthy again is a kick.
