How many teams does the state send to the big dance?? Does USU, BYU or Utah have a chance at a conference tournament upset?? Can SUU upset either WSU or UM in the BSCT?? Does BYU have a change at an at-large bid? I think most of the state has only WSU going dancing. Thoughts??

Has there ever been a time when only WSU went dancing from the state of Utah? What would it be like this year if only WSU goes? Will WSU actually get any local news coverage prior to the first round game? Interviews etc?

1994 would have been the only year Weber would have danced without anyone else from the state. However, after winning the Big Sky, they had to travel to Boise for the tournament, and Boise, playing on their home floor, won it all as the 6 seed. Pretty crappy deal. It would have been a first for Weber.

Why would anyone vote more than 1 team? Only way any team from Utah makes it is by winning their conference tournament. No one, including BYU, will get an at-large. And Weber is the only team to really have much of a chance of winning their conference tournament.

u should have added 0 as an option. but if u add it now it will reset the poll.

best shot
weber

next best shot
usu

next best shot
byu

weber, usu, byu can only get in by winning the conf tourney.
weber will be a 2 seed worst case but needs to win 3 games
usu has to win 3-4 games i forget but neutral so they still have a chance
byu would have to beat 2 ranked teams, including #1 yikes. if smc aint ranked they close

utes n suu is not worth mentioning as their odds are so minimal.

3 teams possible, 1 team is likely but also 0 is a good chance. i just hope that 1 team i voted for is from ogden!

so 1994 was the last 0 team yr? and 2003 was the last 4 team yr? there has never been a 5 team yr.

Best shot belongs to Weber

Then BYU

Then USU

Then SUU

Then Utah

i think there is a much better chance for usu to get the autobid than byu to take down smc and #1 zags. plus its not possible for byu to take down zags in the semi and then lose to smc in the final and then be a potential bubble team. but i think the wcc tuorney starts today or tomorrow so we will find out on saturday who wins it.

technically all the teams in the state have an equal chance since each needs the autobid and none can get an invite.

BYU is a better team right now than USU, and even though BYU would have to go through both St. Mary's and Gonzaga, USU isnt good enough this year to win the tournament, especially with thier injuries

If we dont dance this year, I am almost content to let that be that, no other tourneys,

I dont want Weber to be promised a first round home game and then turn around and have it taken from us by some higher profile team like Oregon with more money who joins the tournament at the last second.

Or

I dont want Weber to go into one of the other tourney's with the highest rank, best record and have to go play on the road at some 5th place school like Loyola Marymount again, and watch the entire tournament be hosted by a school who at the beginning of the tournament was 3 games over .500 (utah state).

End rant

Technically I didnt, I said "other tourneys" 8-)

Only team with a legitimate shot at the Tourney is Weber State. USU won't be able to beat La. Tech or Denver. They were swept by both teams. Also, as Wildcat stated...USU has no chance since they have been so injury prone this year. But weirder things have happened in the past. USU could get hot. Same thing with BYU...they could get hot and win three games. Granted two are against really good teams.

Weber is Utah's best shot and we know that the Cats can do it. In my opinion, especially right now, Weber is the better team, but three games in three days isn't easy. Let's all hope that NAU gets somewhat hot to finish the season and sweeps the Montanas.

Montana State, NAU and North Dakota are the three teams I dont want to see in the tournament :|

This morning on 1280 the Zone, Scott Jurgesen (sp) and Britton Johnson both had and showed much respect and love to the WSU bball team. They had a nice interview with Rahe. Britton especially showed love towards Rahe and the cats. Nice to hear a lot of chatter about WSU basketball today!
