Telfair Declares for Draft

Won't sign with an agent so has until May 25 to make a final decision. I suspect this is just a chance to experience the process and ET will be back next year, but you never know. Speaking of the draft, I haven't noticed Bolomboy mentioned in a lot of mock drafts lately. In the middle of the season I saw him mentioned as a low first rounder or high second. Wonder why his stock has dropped.

I'd be surprised if he gets drafted, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a long and productive professional career somewhere. ET is the most focused, determined athlete I've seen at Idaho State in a long time. The young man has an incredible competitive spirit. Sometimes that spirit is worth more than pure talent.

I believe that he will play professionally somewhere. He has a mostly complete package of skills. He may be a little small for NBA standards, but you never know. That desire can take a player a long ways. I think it is a smart move to test the waters. A lot of scouts pay attention to the combine. It can also be a learning experience for him. :thumb: :thumb:

In my opinion, why not? By declaring, he is able to show off some of his abilities and get some great feed back on what he needs to do. May not transfer to an NBA career, but it probably will lead to a long overseas career. If anything, it could help him have an even better senior year.

As for Joel...my guess is the usual small school bias. He will have plenty of opportunities to frame himself through his workouts. There are a lot of guys on the board, that frankly, he is better than. But are on the pre-draft boards because of the school they are coming from.

I agree. Joel's stock will rise as he goes through the process. I agree also, that some players get more press and may get mentioned more often. However, everyone has to prove themselves eventually. That is why it is not uncommon for a late second round pick to become a starter and really shine in the NBA, and some lottery picks get dropped after their three year deals. Those things happen all the time. :coffee:
