Overall, a great season. Making the semis two times out of the last season is no small feat. You saw the heart of this program in the second half, scoring 42 points after being down 35-0 at half.

Want to thank the Seniors on this team that were so pivotal to the success of this group, going way back to the 2010 Championship season.

Time to re-load, dominate the Big Sky, and make Nother title run next season.

Thanks to the Eagles, especially the seniors, for such an awesome year. Really proud of this team. When does Spring Ball start?

GO EAGS!!!!

What the hell did Baldwin say during halftime? Must have been a great speech.

The Seniors have left a legacy of what never quit means. Stamp this game on the wall. Never forget it. Thanks to all the coaches, players and all you fellow 'posters' who have kept things real and informative from so far away. :notworthy:

So does Kaufman come out early? Please say no! One more year, please!

It'll come down to his draft stock. If he projects in the first couple of rounds, I am guessing he will be gone. And I am certain that his draft stock has risen during the playoffs. He broke the single-season 1AA/FCS receiving record today.

Of course, his stock could really rise given another year. Another season like this one and he'll be a 1st or 2nd rounder. I really hope he sticks around for his Senior year, because this team could be really special next year.

Damn! Thank you Eags! What a heck of a season. Thank you seniors! :notworthy:

On to Corvallis . . . . 2013

SHSU beat NDSU!

I don't think so... you look at the two guys who came out early from Eastern and neither really made it worth their while. Both would have been better served with another year against college competition.

Bummer of a loss today, but glad the team played so valiantly. I was seriously thinking we might wind up getting beat 66-7 or something like that after the first half. But we got it together, but just made too many mistakes early against a damn fine opponent who didn't panic when we finally got the momentum.

Here is what I owe the eagles for this amazing year. My five year old son, his mom and I have made memories that will last a lifetime. My son was crying at half time and said "I am so mad at SAm Houston" and then got so excited when we almost pulled it off. During the season we met so many of the players that took time to say hi and sign his football. He will be an EWU fan for life. Absolutely priceless memories! :thumb:

Thanks again Eagles!

:thumb: Those are priceless memories indeed! My senior player came off the field and I couldn't help but think of all those memories of his sporting lifetime and it all started out the same way. Thank you Eagle coaches, team and fans! It's been a great ride!

Hell of a season, and a hell of a valiant effort to finish it! I really hope Kauf will be around next year as we'll need him, but I can understand if it's his time to go and provide for himself and his family. Dude is a BEAST. I love the 'never say die' attitude of this team... they will never give up on each other, and I certainly will never give up on them. GO EAGLES!!!

i hope not. I think he is better served playing his senior year. Taiwan should not have come out when he did. If he was truly going to play tailback in the Nfl he should have stayed another season and developed his skills more. Now it looks like he will be converted to CB. obviously i want the best for Brandon no matter what and would want him to stay but i will support him no matter the decision but i think at this point it would be a big mistake.

This is what I meant when I echoed the same thoughts earlier. Neither Chatman or Taiwan benefitted from coming out early... and that means benefitting financially or in terms of career longevity. Kaufman is probably more physically ready than either of the first two early leavers, but a big receiver that can't run 4.4 isn't going to light up the charts of the scouts. I suspect Kaufman would be a late round draft pick who'd have to prove what he's got in camp, which after watching him play I have no doubt he can do.

However, another ridiculous year at Eastern and he likely becomes a top 3 rounds pick, meaning another q to h mm per annum in contract, and at that point becomes a roster lock. I know agents will be trying to work him over, and can only suggest he really look at the pros and cons and past experiences of guys.

“What I’m going to remember,” said junior wide receiver Brandon Kaufman, “was hugging Nick (Nicholas Edwards) and Greg (Herd) at the end of the game – and hugging Will Post and Evan Cook.

“I told them how proud I am for the way they committed to this program and how they left everything out on the field tonight. It hurt real bad saying goodbye to Nick and Greg tonight.”

To me, that sounds like he's planning on returning.
