At a time out near the end of the game, it was played. I commented on this earlier in the week. The B2TV feed showed the student section jumping and hollaring, it is the right thin to play for getting energy to our guys to finish out the win.

And for the person at Weber that manages the music, thanks! Hope it can get rolled out again in similar situations.

We have gone so long without playing it that everyone didn't stand up tonight. We need you hear that song at least every few games.

I was actually really excited to see "Joker and the Thief" in action. Since I am new to Weber State Basketball, I haven't seen it in action. I've read about it in posts. People ranting and raving about how we used to play it all the time and now it isn't played at all during the games. I've read many posts about people "Beating a dead horse" over the song. I thought I was really in a for a treat tonight when my friend stood up, hit me to stand up, and said "This is it." I was expecting to be blown away. What I got was a huge let down. Maybe it was because everyone talked it up too much like seeing a great movie. But my experience was not a great one. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to brag about or at least complain in forums that I was missing.

My experience was that 75% of the people around me slowly got to their feet. They must all know that the intro part of the song is WAY too long. By the time it gets to a part where I could actually clap, it was almost time to start the game again. (I do have to admit, the clapping part is fun. They should just do that.) The singing starts with is OK because people are clapping but it pretty bad otherwise. Then it ends.

Everyone tried to tell me that it "Really gets the crowd going." Yes, people clapped for that section of the song but other than that, I really didn't see any more of an increase than other songs played. The crowd definitively reacted better to songs played at the last men's game. At least then, they got up, danced, jumped around, yelled, chanted, and clapped. I just didn't see the same reaction from Joker and the Thief. I know a lot of people care dearly for this song. I was just hoping for the same experience and didn't get it. Maybe next time.

I guess I was just expecting people to be excited. Most people where I was sitting seemed almost upset they had to stand. Maybe it was due to the fact that the nail was already in the coffin. I just wanted to have the same magical experience with the song that most of you had. I guess I'll never get that chance.

part of the reason why you wont see it be as exciting is because our team is too good. 14-0 at home and every game we win the games are never close.
